Problem solved

I was going to say just get a step like the rest of us short arses or get a bigger boy/the wife to do the roof :D

Or do as I did when we had the Ioniq 5, run with the concept that the line I missed in the middle of the roof is actually a go faster stripe and not me being too short to reach it....

Just request one for 24hr on Hyundai site, a few offering this.
I've got a track day at Oulton Park in a 6N now FOC as dealer I took 5N out with submitted a request which has been approved, time to shred some tyres. :D
Well that route didn't go well either

I did, however, get chatting with some of the MSV team at the PistonHeads Annual Service that were showing off the 5N and 6N. I've since been offered a half-day driving experience in an 6N at a circuit of my choice. I'm currently weighing up which track to choose and trying to find a suitable date.

That being said it’s incredibly dry here so I don’t know why we haven’t. Other half of the village is supplied by someone else and they have a ban :P

Depends how much your supplier has invested and draws from aquifers. Where I live we are usually the last to have a ban due to 80+% being drawn from aquifers - but the downside is that water sourced that way is usually hard to very hard.

If only someone had invented something you could step on to extend your reach.

He's probably musing about one already, and the fifty billion extremely specific criteria it'll have to meet for him to buy one.

I'm expecting a dozen threads asking about plastic compositions, UV resistance adhesives, fall-over resistance at every possible angle, how many screwdrivers it'll take to assemble, and the usual word salad consisting of a dozen cans of alphabet spaghetti shot out of a cannon at your screen.

my neighbour has such a pedistal/prosthesis and he is 6ft6 with hyundai suv, but also use it to sit on for wheel cleaning.
I suppose I could balance with one foot on the hydraulic jack.
but ... away from home with roof rack or bicycles up there ? gt40 would solve this.

Having a successfu jacking strategy is more important to life and limb though - if you are referring to that,
bicycle support stand revolutionized my serving that, as I'm sure your stand you posted for motorbike did.

e: but I digress has MrRockcliffe returned his ev 6 ?

Why do smaller EVs have such terrible range?

My company has an EV Vauxhall Corsa & 2 EV Vivaro vans.

Last week, on separate days, I was tasked in taking them back to dealer for 'servicing'.

Bearing in mind that each of these vehicles had been charging overnight

Range from full charge:

Corsa - 188 miles
Van1 - 156 miles
Van2 - 152 miles

That just seems terrible compared to the previous diesel vehicles (we bulk buy diesel in 10s of thousands of litres so it's much cheaper than pump)

Why are you now talking about bicycle stands?

What motorbike stand are you referring to? If you mean my magical trolley, which definitely isn't a stand, I can see why your posts are all gobbledygook.

Range predictions, as they are in ICE vehicles, are driven by recent average economy. If whoever was driving them beforehand was sat at 80 on the motorway and the recent average economy is 3mi/kWh, the predicted range will be lower compared to if the recent economy was 4mi/kWh.

How are they on cost per mile compared to the previous diesel vehicles even with your discount diesel? I suspect they're still substantially cheaper.

Cheaper products with smaller batteries based on modified ICE platforms.

As for the range, it depends on the duty cycle. If the vehicle only does 100 miles per day, it’s kind of irrelevant if the range is ‘only’ 150 miles range. I expect they are not exactly driven within mechanical sympathy either.

They’ll also be way cheaper than diesel to operate if charged at the depot.

With today's prices probably. Just seems a waste as the previous vehicles were under 2 years old but the bosses went on the whole EV kick as the MD bought one.

They literally pottle around. They fitted with telematics for "safety monitoring". Bad scores get you a tea & biscuits session.

Depends a bit on your business usage - where I work vans can have a quick turn around as one shift finishes and another starts - so you'd need to be able charge very quickly or time is money and all that (EDIT: Though I'm talking in context of range per shift kind of thing rather than per day - while one shift's use might be within range that would leave nothing for the next shift).

They've yet again aborted changing our vans at work over to electric vehicles - can't go into the why without potentially getting myself in trouble though.

With the sort of tax incentives involved for businesses, they're probably costing the business virtually nothing in comparison too, even if the previous stock wasn't particularly old.

Exactly. So many of us here had our head in our hands when our 2005 Berlingo van with a whopping 50 something thousand on the clock got replaced with... another diesel. Then there were complaints abut how much corporation tax we were paying

It does such short infrequent trips they wouldn't even have to have fitted a 7kW charger for the thing!
