Why do smaller EVs have such terrible range?
My company has an EV Vauxhall Corsa & 2 EV Vivaro vans.
Last week, on separate days, I was tasked in taking them back to dealer for 'servicing'.
Bearing in mind that each of these vehicles had been charging overnight
Range from full charge:
Corsa - 188 miles
Van1 - 156 miles
Van2 - 152 miles
That just seems terrible compared to the previous diesel vehicles (we bulk buy diesel in 10s of thousands of litres so it's much cheaper than pump)
The vans are heavier and a lot less aerodynamic. I’m sure ground up electric vans will improve, but I can’t see them cracking 300 miles anytime soon.
