EV general discussion

So my wife has pretty much been given a charging bay at work just for herself now, awesome. Free leccy.

What am I looking at here? I'm guessing a povvo charger barely quicker than a granny lead?
3 phase 22kW it looks like to me

edit: Tom's post before me was on a new page haha didn't see it...

Yep. 3P for 3 phase and 32A per phase. Assuming it’s been wired in that way else just single phase 7kW.

Ie top end Easee unit. You can’t really get faster on AC now.

Minimum 7kw so much better than a granny charger.

Edit: already answered.

nice to have a personal free 7.4kw at work.

like stellantis/merc, tesla doesn't treble the complexity of the onboard rectifier to deal with 3-phase AC if that's not a typical domestic/public-charging need.
Stellantis you pay extra and whoever it was who had a merc phev on here was also doing that, charging cable needs to be compatible too.

Just launched an EV scheme at work through octopus and it’s mighty expensive.

It’s essentially only worth it if you’re trying to reduce your tax to below a specific threshold eg 100k.

Quotes for me were roughly double that of what I’d pay if I just got the car online myself.

Pah! Grannies.
My front wheels are always dirty. But I only consider efficiency on longer journeys.

Averaging 3.0mi/kWh over 12K miles :P
