EV general discussion

Well... The slippery slope to EV ownership has started.

Test drive of a Micra is booked for tomorrow, the car is for Mrs G but she refuses to be involved with the test drive :D . As long as it's a nice blue and not too big compared to her Corsa she's happy :km:

Wifey and I are discussing the best place to mount it. I favour on the steering column so that it can be seen through the wheel. Wifey says she prefers if it goes near the screen on the top. We will see once it arrives.
Steering wheel column is probably better. If it's mounted on the dash itself it will block the A/C vent right in front of the driver. The steering column position will also block the AC vent, but less so.

Is the range sufficient and you'll remember to plug in to charge yeah?
Besides being blue and the size requirements, the main thing is buying the right car for the use case.

Yeah my vote is for in front of the wheel as well, I would have thought it defeats the object putting it above the main screen.

No, not above the main screen. I'm talking out in front of the driver, close to the windscreen.
Gonna look quite small though

It's got the range ( even when cold ) she needs and we've got a real car as well ;)

Odd, my Highland has both Carplay and Android Auto. Do the older models not have this?

Shirley it's just an OTA update?

(Christ, I'm now using terms like OTA, I'm beyond saving :()

Yeah, like that.
I'm sure I'll come up with something that's acceptable to both of us. I could always follow the TomTom brigade and mount it in the centre of my windscreen, right in front of the driver
Probably worth to place it closer to the edge of the dash rather than the windscreen (still above the vents). But the wires may be showing so may need to route it with some finesse

Tesla does not officially support CP/AA. Your car's ex-owner probably fitted a 3rd party box
