Surely you would have seen it's one of the reasons why JP isn't getting an EV.......
I'm afraid you are. The lack of CarPlay and Android Auto is one of the main complaints people have about Teslas. There is no sign that this is going to ever change, despite there being persistent rumours for years.
To be fair to Tesla though, the stock infotainment is so good that it's not a massive issue. I just miss Waze and getting notified about Whatsapp messages.
The main hold up is apparently that because CP and AA don't talk back to the car, it doesn't know to pre-condition the battery or do other things. There was a change in iOS26.something that made Apple Maps talk back to the car to solve issues like this but so far, nothing has been announced.
I will be very surprised if it ever comes to Teslas.

Same, I'd be very surprised if Mr Musk wants to give up any control he has of the car, or let apple telemetrics into the Tesla ecosystem.
I think it's actually a lot to do with FSD. That isn't going to work with mapping that isn't built in and so they could only really offer it as a sort of auxiliary window. I'm pretty sure that Apple don't allow that and insist that Carplay takes over all mapping functions when connected.
I believe it's on page 144. Stipulation 14, paragraph 5, chapter 95, book 17 of the 8th edition of "Reasons Jpaul will never buy an EV".

They asked me to re-book the test drive for another day... I told them "NO"
Since I filled in the Nissan test drive booking enquiry I've been phoned twice, emailed, texted and whatsapp'ed by the main dealer, they even phoned me before 9am this morning to check I was still coming in. I don't think I'm being unreasonable to want a parking space
