Then feel sorry for the poor sap that had to fit this lot ...

Every single one of those brass circles is a bayonet light fitting. Cut into the artex'd ceiling and wired from above. HOW piddled off must the guy have been after finishing that lot? From a time when 3 million 15w pigmy bulbs would impress the punters :D

A friend of mine has got hold of a club in Newquay and we're just starting to refurbish it to open as a strip club. Seeing some of the kit this place is kitted out with is a serious step back in time :D

Thankfully (for me) we've got a couple of 20 year old labourers to do the "fun stuff". Each bulb holder has to have it's brass locking collar unscrewed, then be pushed up through the artex so that the plasterer can redo the ceiling.

If i'm feeling generous i might even turn the mains off while they're doing it :D

I hear they make very good mains testers too. "Here, son - hold this for a minute. ...... Feel anything?" :D

I had a sparky at my house a wee while back trying to sort the light switch in the garage. He asked me to go and switch the power off at the mains so that he could crack on with the job. So, off I go and look at the mains box and take a 'lucky dip' at what switch I thought I should be throwing and then went outside to give him the thumbs up. In went his screwdriver ....... :D

For a fat bloke he had amazingly fast reflexes but it was the speed that he could recite all of mans known swear words that impressed me :D

I did try to ask if he was alright but I kept on sniggering which didn't help much :p
