Ever modded a 6800 (Asus V9999)?

you can't unlock just 1 pipeline unfortunately, so try with an extra shader and see if that works, if not try with extra pipes, if that doesn't work then no can do. however i think you should see an extra shader.

I got artifacts on MOther nature or something on 3d mark 03

That is the test I use to see if it has been unlocked, if it artifacts in that, then no good. I also use farcry, look at the water, doom3, look at the walls at the begining of the game

What do you mean sorry, do you mean:

a) Trying unlocking the shaders but not pipes and benching, then if that works
b) Trying unlocking the pipes but not the shaders then benching?

Sorry that I didnt understand

Just wanted to say Great Thread. I've been running my V9999 /TD for two years and the performance has gradually got worse with some of the more high graphic games nower days. So I followed the link in this thread to soft mod my card and foud using RivaTuner that my card came default with 8 pipes. I've upted it following the guide in the link below and upted the pipes tp 16 and the vertex shaders from 4 to six and its increased my 3dMark score by 30% to 9650 (see current in sig).

So before you think your gfx card is outdated I strongly advise looking at software modding.

Thanks OC for keeping threads like this.

I don't have personal experience, but aren't the ASUS cards the one with the molex that goes perpendicular to the card? If so, you won't be able to fit an Artic Cooler without some modification/soldering.

This is true, i have the Asus 6800 and i had to move the molex adaptor to the other side of the board and cut some of the copper away, don't bother it's a lot of hassle.

...and this post is sooooo old

For the exact reason it was brought back up again - archived threads are a lot better for help than asking the same questions over and over :)
