I was playing stalker today and completed a few missions.

Few moments after, I was thinking- I don't even want to play this. And realised I was playing it for the sake of it - to kind of justify me buying the game.

Seems a few games recently had me doing this - gta 4 is a biggie.

Had any games which make you feel like this?

Unreal Tournament 3, bought the special edition when it came out for £35, utter tat of a game, mainly for the online play i bought it (which is good) but its hard to find many servers.

Single player campaign really is terrible and it just feels like they plopped it in with no thought at all.

Been trying to complete it to justify the buy, but everytime i play it and get past a few levels i think why am i doing this and why is such a terrible game taking so long to complete!

No, if i'm not in the mood for a game, i just can't play it. Also I'm glad i tried the demo of abe the other day, otherwise i would be really annoyed by the game, super bad gfx lol

C&C3 Tiberium Wars
didnt like the game that much tbh but since ive completed all previous games i thought i might as well do it
i found the GDI campaign "ok" but dont like the NOD one at all as i dont like the units so im kind of forcing myself to complete it

lol still not done yet and i got the game 1.5 years ago but i hope to have it completed by the time RA3 is out

still got loads of others im forcing myself to complete as well

Many , when it gets to the stage where I think ,I'm really not enjoying this,I switch to a new game and maybe go back to it or don't and it ends up in a draw somewhere.

quake 4
the witcher (started of good got bored )

I often do this when replaying games too ,I have about 4 unfinished ones atm.

Doom 3. I've had it pretty much from release I think, got bored after a few levels. Reinstalled it the other week to justify buying it, Only half way through now, and im sick of it. But I WILL complete it...........eventually

Try playing it in the dark with headphones on ,so much better ,also the game improves when you go to hell .

Command and Conquer: Generals

Picked it up at the shop after thinking RTS were something I liked after playing COH. It was horrible.

Forced myself through the first few levels then had to let it go.

I tried that hoping that it will give some sort scary atmosphere but I cant help thinking that all im doing is like the old doom's is running picking up keycards and opening doors. Not to mention that damn flashlight..

OMG
UT3 is awesome, not to everyones taste but still... awesome

I think Doom 3 would have to be my "Sake of it" game...
got it for free & wanted to see what all the old hype was about

Star Wars Battlefront. That game was the worst game I have ever bought. Your team of bots did zero killing, all they did was reduce the ticket counter and the game would be up if you didn't kill fast enough.

hmm, probably quake 3 here. only play it if i cant be bothered to play any other game, but i really enjoy it when im in game so its ok :)

yea i didnt really liek the single player ut3 :p was only for online i bought it and theres like barely any servers :( AITD4, or 5 which ever the latest was, i played it for a few mins and got fed up... then tried again a week later because it was just sitting there looking at me.... got a bit further, then took it back cos i just hated it :p

quake 4 was kinda the say, i did enjoy it but after a while i was hoing for the origionals charm to kick in but not really :( same it ET:QW was oodles of fun to play, but finding decent servers was hard to do :(

currently doing HL2 after stopping it before my exams, just done the water bit and now at black mesa east.... or west, what ever it is, not sure how far through the game i am now but its fun fun fun :) im usually all about the online games tho :) BF2!!!

i don't play games for the sake of it. same as i don't eat food i don't like or drink stuff i don't like the taste of. it's only money. if you have to lose a few quid selling it on, so what?

I most have at lest ten games that i bought and never even played yet..:o

I keep going to town and seeing that a new game has come out. So i buy it, take it home and put it on top of the stack of my other games and think one day i may get round to playing it...
But i keep doing this before i even played the last game i bought...

UT3, BioShock and STALKER, just trying to justify buying them. UT3 aint that bad once you get into it(not as good as previous ones), but finding stalker and BioShock really hard to keep playing.

Got some time off next week so plan on running through them all really fast lol.

I tried to force myself to play WOW because all my workmates were doing it. Just couldnt get into it :( Much prefered FFXI, Neocron & LOTRO.
