Hey all

Just set up my new AMD 64 system, running a 3200+ A64 cpu and ECS Nforce3 A939 mobo.

All the everest temp reads are sensible apart from the CPU itself, ive downloaded both speed fan and hardware sensor monitor who both say that the cpu is at 35 degrees C which with my Freezer 64 is about right. But everest reckons that its around 94 degrees......worrying!. but the system runs 100% stable. my fiancee was using it for her uni work for about 7 hours yesterday.

the other 2 fan programs have a random sensor reading for "temp 3" which is the same as everest is reading as the cpu.

ive included a desktop screen grab below that shows all 3 programs running. Im sure ive heard of Everest giving false readings on certain boards/BIOS's.

just to add, i have O/C'd the CPU to 2.2ghz and run stable and the temps on both speed fan and sensor monitor both gave the same 1-2 deg increase from the mild O/C......think im right in saying that everest is being a fool?

Any thoughts and help would be great.

everest lies some times, it said my cpu was 45c when really it was only 22c.

download CoreTemp program its 100% exact :)

have been playin today, on the current board i have got it running stable at 2.5ghz (stock is 2ghz). CPU temp is stable on load @ 35-37 degrees (is only a cheap £29 ECS board and its not that clockable, 250mhz is max O/C it will do )

SuperPi stock was 45 seconds, at 2.5ghz....35!!!!!!!. This chip is awesome!

lol. yeah, i can imagine the speed difference.

i had a 3200 and it was slow. infact i just destroyed it today i removed the IHS from it and accidently ripped a chip off inside with the knife blade.

but my amd 4400x2 which iv been using for a while. i just got a PI 1m of 32.2seconds my fastest ever.

im at 1.61v at 2.7ghz now.

its getting a bit toasty, but i can live with the heat till my arctic cooler arives on tuesday :)

To be honest mate, from what I have heard, the Core Duo's do run quite hot, or so quite a few people say on here.

Would defo recommend an after market Cooler, will make a HUGE! Difference :)
