Everyday Backpack. What do you have or use?

Argos number 2 best seller.

Mine has opti branding but I paid £12 not £9.
I don't daily it as I'm not in th office daily. It gets the work surface book which fits in one of those leather document Walltet things thrown in.
Lunch boxes. Mouse, headset etc all fits. Was a bit snug with the steam deck the other week.

Had it.... A couple of years it feels.

So after much deliberation I opted for the Aer Travel Pack 3 X-Pac and a trio of packing cubes.

Why... seemed to have the best tech panel set up of all those I looked at.

So hopefully sorted for lots of planned long haul work trips and no baggage claim faff.

Thanks for the Aer ref. @Fusby.

Going to also recommend the Osprey Farpoint/Fairview 40L for carry on. I have the Farpoint specifically for those trips where you want to be mobile with all your stuff. Works a charm, took it to all places in Europe, South America and use it as a day bag for hiking etc in the UK.

For the office I use a Wenger Laptop rucksack. Usually don't carry a laptop, but it has so many useful pockets for organising things. So sturdy too. When not going to the office I use a lighter bag uniglo or a messenger bag thingy I got online.

A lot of bags, rucksacks are rubbish.

For me, having looked at this one, it was lacking in an external bottle pocket and tech/organiser panel.

On my trip to Greenland I have my fairview 40 and my hikelite 18.

Means no checked baggage. Which speeds things up so much.

I wouldn't want to use it for a day bag though. Too chunky!

Needed something for travel with work. Large carry on size. Sick of humping my holdall around and not having a spare hand after grabbing a coffee. So took the plunge tonight and bought an Osprey Daylite 40l backpack.

Things I liked. Good size, nice laptop pouch, the straps for keeping this in place and the fact it opens like a holdall and not a regular back pack.

Looking forward to trying it out soon. I hear good things about them. :)

Troubadour Apex is what I use for commuting:

Like this though mine is the collaboration with Thomas Pink (so it's black with some small different details)

I also have an Away "everywhere" backpack that I used for years and couldn't fault the longevity of, and only moved to the troubadour as I wanted a bit more space and an external bottle pouch (and i just really liked the thomas pink collab :p). Of course, just after buying the troubadour, Away then away launched a bigger one with exactly that just after :D

I think the Troubadour is aesthetically nicer still though and I was a sucker and bought the matching small duffle for use at the office gym:

Bought a bellroy venture ready 26L a few weeks ago for office and also some outdoor/travel use. Been very happy with it and the amount of organisation it offers.

Only downside is the waterproof zippers needing a bit more force than usual but I quickly got used to it.

I carried one of these for a decade a work bag commuting between NE London and Heathrow. Could fit a 13” MBP in it when I needed to. Choose foliage green as it looks a dirty grey-green in most light and giving off a cheap army surplus look to go with my Urban Grey Man commuting wear ethos.

Coated it with fabric hiking boot waterproofing spray every 3 months to make it highly water resistant.

Hopefully someone in here can point me in the right direction.
I came across some ‘secure’ backpacks recently but can’t recall the brand.
They had like a wire mesh embedded in them to stop slash thefts etc.

Seen some backpacks with secure 'locks', like Mous.
My Bellroy has the waterproof reverse zips which are hard to open unless you use two hands (one hand to tense the fabric and provide resistance so you can actually pull the zip).
