Yuk. Grow a real vegetable like broccoli or brussels.
Wheat and barley iirc, same as humans...Arent turnips what we feed livestock?
Sounds like there's actually a shortage of turnips now.
Wonder what Coffey's veg of the day will be now?
However, some experts have pointed the finger at Brexit, with former Sainsbury’s CEO Justin King telling LBC the supermarket sector has been “hurt horribly” by Britain’s departure from the EU.
Weird isn't it, a FB friend posted some pictures of her shopping trip earlier, zero shortages of anything. Tesco and Aldi IIRC.Apologies if repost…
Europeans mock UK shoppers with pictures of full shelves of vegetables
People living in Europe are sharing images contrasting their supermarkets with those in the UKwww.independent.co.uk
Tomatoes for everyone when I was out earlier - zero shortages.
looks like the media are trolling the lefties into frothy panic buying lol

Id suggest you check out the panic and hysteria in the panic buying thread chuckles.Imagine turning a shortage of vegetables into a narrative about how the left are panicking and getting trolled by the media into panic buying.
Could your easily grifted balls be any deeper in culture war nonsense lol

Suppliers do not want to pay a fair price.Weird isn't it, a FB friend posted some pictures of her shopping trip earlier, zero shortages of anything. Tesco and Aldi IIRC.
Seems like sporadic local issues hyped up by the media.Well Morrisons was well stocked this am.

Or, and this may sound weird the suppliers and companies know what's likely to be arriving and where things are in the distribution chain and started to take action before things fell apart?Seems like sporadic local issues hyped up by the media.
Yep just sounds like minor inconvenience for some.Or, and this may sound weird the suppliers and companies know what's likely to be arriving and where things are in the distribution chain and started to take action before things fell apart?
They're warning about it being an issue for something like 4-8 weeks, that means they've not secured enough for normal levels of stock over that period, not that everywhere is going to run out in the next couple of days whilst stock that's already near delivery reaches the stores (they can't really hold back fresh veg for long to stretch out the supply either).
So supply in the stores might be reasonable now, but they haven't got their normal levels ready as what is in the shops at the moment is sold/starts to go off.
One of the reasons they are limiting purchases is to try and ensure that they maintain stock on the shelves, even if it means you can't buy as many as normal.
