EVGA 8800GTX NOT RUNNING AT CORRECT SPEEDS

exactly thats why i got a overclocked version
I'm sure the third party application would do great harm to you!

Also you can OC in the nVidia control panel, no?

Should've saved the cash and done it yourself, takes about 10 seconds. :o

I think you are all been too hard on him. If he wants to pay extra for a pre clocked card guaranteed to work at a certain speed then that's his choice. Don't criticise him for it.

Also, i'm not sure you can manual overclock the shader?????? Or if you can, it's at your own risk. This card has an overclocked shader don't forget.

I would suspect that he hasn't got the card he paid for. My EVGA lists at the right speed in both rivetuner, ati tool and the bios utility listed here.

One thing to check is whether the card has the same s/n on it as the outside of the box. You never know, it may have been packed wrong.

So you can change oc settings without ntune?

Yes, Ati tools, rivatuner and probable loads of other utilities.

Ati tools is nice as it has a stress in program to check the overclock.

Thats what i would do, you've paid for it.

I agree.

I just downloaded Rivatuner 2.02 and in the nice little graphic monitor my memory is showing 900MHz, which is the same in NTune. Do I double this to get to the real speed (ie 900x2=1800). My core is at 576, shader at 1350.

Buts evga they dont mind if you overclock it yourself, plus its running at its stated speeds so nothing is wrong.

Its not running at stated speeds..

Keeny said its running at 600 and 1800

Stated speed on the box is 626 and 2000

The problem is in the bios..

You need to flash it with the lastst one and it sorts out all your problems..

Also has a better cooler than standard gtx so you can get a bit more out of it

Not normally, most reviews of the ko cards basically state that the cards already clocked to its limit. You'll be lucky getting an extra 10-15mhz out of it.

Well touch wood i got mine at 636 and 2100 and it hasnt crashed as yet

Ive just jinxed myself now.. it will probably crash when I come off this forum.. LMAO

The only thing that gets on my nipples now is the god damn screeching noise when you turn it off...

Ive read on one of the posts that there is a speaker in the gfx card.

If thats true is there a way of disabling it?
