EVGA UK RMA centre announced

@smsmasters, yes they have a step-up program for UK/EU http://eu.evga.com/support/stepup/

I've been keeping my eye on the page, I've 30 days left so hoping the 1080 gets added to it before my time is up.

Hi guys

Sorry for the delay in my confirming here, Wife's birthday this weekend so no work was allowed!!

I can confirm step up programme will apply to GTX1080 and it will go live inline with the launch of GTX1080 as outlined by Nvidia.

Of course you will be placed into a queue system once you register for step up. Once you have registered for step - up if your 3 months passes you will still stay eligible though until you reach the front of the queue.

Once your step-up card is ready then you will pay the £ difference and return your old card in exchange for your shiny new GTX1080.

Of course there might be more questions but remember you need to have registered your card within 14 days of purchase in order to qualify.

Thanks
Ben

Hi

Yes we will have 2 options for step up at launch, it will be the Founders Edition card and an ACX reference clock model also.

Thanks
Ben

Might be worth noting also the ACX model of course will be longer time scales though as all first stocks are all on Founders Edition. So if you are looking for a quick step up exchange it might be worth going for FE.

Thanks
Ben

why is the EVGA eu store so weak compared to the US?

it has put me off Evga a lot because it seem we are getting a second class service

for instance they get more items and have more stock but I think europe deserves stock just as much as US.

for example went to buy the updated Hybrid shroud for 980ti/titan x.. none in the EU

plenty in US for 25$

Hi Yoyo

Speaking generally for the UK we dont really use the European online store, we generally try and bring all product into our top UK retail/etail accounts.

In Europe we are a lot smaller than the US but growing at a great rate of knots so hopefully in the future you are going to see this kind of offer. We do have the same pre-order opportunities on GTX1080 cards like the US but obv with the EU MRSPs.

For UK stick to OCUK though and you wont go too far wrong.

buy EVGA card
register EVGA card within 10 days (I think)
87 days later EVGA release a better card than you originally bought
start step up program
pay difference between old card and super duper new one
send in old card
get super duper new card

I like this description but I will correct 1 line:

register EVGA card within 10 days (I think) -This is 14 days you have to register.

It lasts for 90 days as well so day 88/89 and 90 are also fine.

Hi Ben ,

New Overclockers user here.

Ben , I wonder if you could help me please.

I am having zero luck with EVGA UK technical support RMA'ing my card. Yes my card IS under warrenty. Yes my card IS registered.

I spoke to an incredibly rude person called Markus Cheesefarmer who was rude and unhelpful all whilst 'giggling' under his breath when I asked to speak to his superior as I was unhappy with his attitude he did nothing but laugh and claim to be the man in charge. Frankly his attitude was extremely un-professional.

I would like to check the email address name he has given me for 'Joe Earwin' is [email protected].

I would appreciate some help in this matter as I am despite what I have read online to the contrary not getting any help from EVGA in this matter. I am happy to PM you my purchase order details to prove my card was under warrenty when the fault occurred. I purchased from ************ in Feb of last year.

Apologies for having to bring this up on a public forum I am just wanting to get my faulty graphics card problem resolved.

Thank you for your time.

Hi sir

Firstly I apologise for the unsatisfactory response of one of my colleagues. I was not aware of any Mr. CheeseFarmers working for the company.

I would like to jump onto your complaint as soon as possible so please can you escalate your email to myself Ben Wilson ([email protected]) and the worldwide EVGA Operations Manager Joe Darwn ([email protected])

One of us will reply to you within 24 hours.

Again my apologies for not meeting your expectations.

Ben

Can I ask how long it usually takes for a card to be shipped out once the old card is received?

Mine has been stuck on 'Preparing to Ship Product' since thursday (RMA:543216001827)

Hi Fish

I have asked the team and will endeavour to come back to you tomorrow as Germany are about to close for Monday.

Ben

OK so two questions about the step-up program:
- the EVGA prices are all in Euros. I converted my £ purchase price (Amazon) into Euros using google, is that what I was supposed to do?
- where will I have to ship to, is it a UK address?

Thanks!

Hi PinkPig

Yes, upon registration you should have uploaded your invoice to EVGA thus we have your purchase price. You will be sent a total amount in difference to pay for step up.
For return of the old unit you can return to the UK RMA centre this is correct. The new one will ship out from our European RMA base in Germany.

At the moment we are in a queuing system on GTX1080 as you must imagine the demand is very high but as long as you lock in your request even if you pass 90 days since purchase you stay in the queue until your product is ready.

Thanks
Ben

Does this mean I can step up my SC to a Classified as soon as they are available?

Cheers.

Hi Matty

We do not always release all cards into the step up programme, usually only 1-2 per GPU otherwise it gets far too complicated. The basis behind it is usually for people upgrading from old generation to new generation IE GTX980Ti - GTX1080.

Here is the current list of step up cards in the program -

EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti GAMING ACX 2.0+ (06G-P4-4991-KR)
EVGA GeForce GTX 970 SSC GAMING ACX 2.0+ (04G-P4-3975-KR)
EVGA GeForce GTX 950 GAMING (02G-P4-1952-KR)
EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FOUNDERS EDITION (08G-P4-6180-KR)
EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 ACX 3.0 (08G-P4-6181-KR)
EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 (08G-P4-5180-KR)

Thanks
Ben

just sent mine off to the uk address EvGA wanted me to ship to Germany.

I called customer service and complained. Asked "why on earth should I ship to Germany" ?.

when they have a uk address to send too but even when talking to customer services it was 15 mins before the guy could confirm the uk address indeed.

Think EVGA ben should have a word with them one year from opening a uk centre and they still asking people in the uk to ship to Germany.

Did have to laugh though customer service guy asks "what's wrong with sending it to Germany? I answer simply "its cheaper"

Hi

Please can you send me the summary of your emails with the team to my email - [email protected]

I have heard of a couple of cases where people have been asked to ship to Germany based in the UK and this should not be happening so just need to alert the head of the team to ensure all communication is correct.

Thanks in advance and sorry for your inconvenience.
