OP
I thought you needed an active paid account to emumovies to import vids into launchbox? Otherwise it's just box art and the basics. Has this changed?
I don’t have a paid account but it works for me. You do need an account though.

Nice however there are some flaws with this build. I say this as I'm building my 2nd cab soon when I get some time.

Serial connection is better than usb because some games in usb there's a delay, this is detrimental to shooters etc.

The raspberry pi is not powerful enough to run all games without slowdown, I would use a more powerful pc with a basic gpu for 3d based games like tekken etc.

Finally the screen is a pc monitor and not a proper video games monitor with true scanlines.

Scanlines can be emulated but it's not quite the same, without a true video monitor like a wells Gardner then your skimping on your effort and final build which is great.

OP
  1. I don’t plan to play shooters
  2. It’s running a full PC with a 1050Ti
  3. It wasn’t built to be an arcade authentic cab- it needed to be relatively easy to move without it collapsing in on itself
  4. Scanlines don’t interest me

I'm just very reluctant to pay $60 for video snaps especially when I only want an arcade set. I already have a retropie video snap set but need to full 0.201 rom set snaps. Maybe I'll do them all myself lol.

Seems after checking I got a discount code with my Bigbox premium membership which takes it down to $45 or £36. Bit more palatable I guess.
