Agreed, its just that some people here think they are high and mighty, and think they have never done a thing wrong it there life

People have very different opinions on the use of dating sites. I recently found out that one of my (female) friends turned up and I asked my friend about it, but he was rather unsubtle in his approach and it was embaressing for all involved.
Unless you are a sociopath, I'd not string someone along for lulz. There are more productive things to do in life.

Totally agree... It was me making a 'wrong' assumption, thinking it was a scam. If nothing else, take advice from my own signature, and advance my own knowledge...!!
Online dating does take courage, it all just looked like it was thrown into a translator, I mean.... It all looked so wrong to me, and I’ve had a few scams that looked the same..
I really should have picked up on her talking about pets etc... that should've been enough to allow me to make a much more informed assessment....
Anyhow, I've already apologised, numerous times now. I have in fact learnt from this, as I always do..!! Lesson in 'tact'..!!

Any whoo, I missed the email, and the link soi have no real idea what's going on here, but to be complaining because some people on a forum that she/it/he/whatever doesn't post on, will never see, and will never be "bullied" by does seem a little silly.
Although from posts here it sounds like she submitted a painting rather than a picture of her self, which is weird

I know you didn't mean anything malicious when starting this thread, but it's when some people on here rally others in a stupid cause (for example taking the micky out of this woman) that annoys me.

I admit i'm probably a bit harsh on the OP as he has admitted the mistake. Its the group mentality of others when this happens that irks me more i guess.
(this isnt the first time some ocuk folks from here, and i say "ocuk folks" because its an ocuk forum, have done this sort of thing)

Its behaving with no respect for the other person at all, like they dont really exist. Because as long as they never find out then its ok right?
Shall i go and email this woman and tell them what people have been saying and plotting about them? No i wouldnt because firstly its cruel; like telling this person that the person she liked and wanted to get to know better (when she emailed him) is actually not who she thought he was. And secondly she probably would get depressed (sounds like she is a bit shy) and might just become more isolated from people. So no i wouldnt tell her... i'd rather she remain hopeful about meeting people rather than bitter and mistrustful...

Some folk on here think its fine.. and they either act like that in real life or they hide behind a screen let their "chav" side run riot i guess...Well i dont see people doing this in person. I dont think its normal for people to laugh at other people's misfortune. Did you happen to see that program on bbc1 the other day about the kid who needed multiple operations on his face because it was all out of proportion. Was your first instinct to jeer and laugh at him????

Hey don't you be so sure with that statement.... It wasn't a case her not being 'OMGAWESOME' hot lass emailing me that prompted me to think it was a scam... In fact, some REALLY hot looking girls have sent me emails that are obviously scams.... So, this wasn't it at all... It was the way the email was just so badly written and all in caps.... I know, I know, it certainly wasn't grounds to think it was a scam.... However, after reading soooo many scam emails on match.com, I just automatically assumed... I'd say about 90% of contact for me on match has been via winks, lasses rarely send first emails, they normally send a wink, and what for the bloke to lead with a first email... Normally... Only scammers seem to send badly written, formatted emails first.
Anyow I have even had chats on match.com with lasses that IMO might be considered as average looking, even took one of them on a date... nothing became of it, but still... I'm not shallow, I'm not exactly 'Brad Pit' myself..!
I'm trying to justify myself here, obviously a bit of guilt is overcoming me at the moment.... I am now soooo glad I didn't email trying to take the mick, that really would have been cruel, but if it had been a scammer, then the emails to take the mick would have been just.. Agree??

i think those on the moral high horse should maybe step back down into reality.
we've all made errors of judgement and said something about someone which came across incredibly rude/harsh/insensitive and worse still, they've heard it.
i know i've said some things before now without thinking and got myself into trouble. this guy has realised that what he thought was a scam isnt a scam and he's apologised to us.... the only other thing he could do it apologise to her but would that appease anyone, least of all her?? i bet she'd be well chuffed with an apologetic email saying a forum was suggesting things about her.
so to all the sensitive souls on the board.... get a sense of perspective.

We rip the **** out of each other & are completely relaxed about ourselves Not stuck up our own **** so far we cannot laugh at each other. There are people on here that know me irl matey.
