Exercise before work

I no longer have a gym pass and am starting to look a little beefy. I usually get up, have breakfast and get ready, go to work then get home by about 7 and am to knackered to do anything.

Is it better to get up, eat breakfast then do exercise (20 or mins on the bike) or do the bike first then eat breakfast? Ive been eating reasonably healthy at work (tuna pasta mayo or potatoes n tuna etc and 2 pieces of fruit) but im sitting down all day apart from the walk to train station so i need to be exercising more.

I eat at night around 7 or 7.30 usually and have something like rice/pasta with turkey/chicken or chilli, bolognese. Most of the time with veg
 
personnaly i prefer going to the gym first then later on go to work, i find im more up for it, and then i feel great when i go to work later like im buzzing.
 
You'd probably get better reponses in the Sports Arena, I'm not so keen on going to the gym early as I find it just leaves me a bit too contented for work (well that and slightly shakey if I've done it right). There is also the problem of getting enough nutrition early enough and leaving enough time before the workout.

All that said, if that is the best/only time for you to go then try it and see how it goes. :)
 
if you are going to do some work in the morning and the aim is fatloss, do it before breakfast :]

i go to the gym before work because of time constraints in the evening, i just take a big bag with all my shower stuff in hit the gym for 30-40 minutes get out have a cold shower then a quick session in the steam room if i'm feeling my feminine side and then a nice shower and breakfast and straight to work. The trick to going to the gym before work is to make sure you are in no sort of rush. for instance if you are in work at 9 don't get up at 7:30 ruush into the gym at 8:15 have to be out of there by 8:45 and turn up all flustered. Get up at 6 get a leisurely breakfast get everything ready and stroll into the gym at 7:30 and take your time.

i always feel great when i get into work after a decent session at the gym.

Itll probably be catch 22 tomorrow morning. If i bike first then eat i will feel i have no energy. But if i eat then bike ill feel all fat and lethargic. Ill go with the no energy thing, otherwise ill probably feel more hungry at work.
 
I always do my morning exercise on a banana or small bowl of weetabix (only 2 or 3 biscuits). Then I gorge on porridge when I've finished!
