Honestly, I'm feeling pretty depressed at the moment. As some of you know I'm disabled with serious lower limb mobility issues, constant painful swelling and regular cellulitis etc that makes getting about on crutches or even my wheelchair difficult at the best of times. I'm back on my carnivore diet trying to lose weight and improve my health etc but I want to try some form of low/no impact exercise. To see if I can improve things.

Problem is I'm 6ft8 and currently 29st 4lbs (188 kg) so my options seem pretty limited to either bikes that cost over £2000 that can support my weight and bikes that are far cheaper that can't. Obviously don't want to be spending that much on something I may not actually be able to use. I just need to try!

What can you guys recommend?

Just an idea, but do you have a Pure Gym anywhere near you? My local one is about £24 a month with no contract, so you could see if they have anything suitable to try out? If you don't like it / can't do it then it will only have cost the first months fee.

Thanks for the suggestion, I do have several gyms close by including a pure gym or two. However it's getting out the house on a consistent basis that's the problem. Plus I wouldn't feel comfortable without support. Might be an option for the future though as I did use to enjoy the gym back in the day. Just to add I was looking for an inclusive gym that's part of the everyone can scheme but my closest is Preston

Not to take this too far off topic but is that as a result of the assault that happened when you were on doors?
Remember reading about it on here ages ago.

Bad time to be buying exercise equipment, give it a month or two and the classifieds will be full of unwanted hardly used items. I'd go for a used gym quality recumbent, https://www.fitness-superstore.co.uk/ I've visited this store in person before, they are very competitive on price, I'd also consider getting something that can be linked to a Zswift so that you can keep the interest up if you continue

Concept 2 Bike Erg is bomb proof... My gym has maybe 15 of them and they get abused daily and stand up to it no bother.

Rated for 300lb (159kg i think) but I suspect will have no issues over this.

Thread above suggests 400lb is fine.

Great bike, loads of online stuff/Concept 2 website suggest workouts etc.

Got one myself - solid bike and resale if you sell is always very high.

One of my Pure Gyms (Warrington North) has two of these and they are head and shoulders better than the other bikes. I’m a big concept2 rowing fanboy though!

What about trying some low intensity arm exercises just to start losing weight? Literally just moving your arms up and down for a few minutes, or with some light weights? The important thing is it's easy to start, and easy to do. Also, think of any other low intensity routines that you can do in the house, and just start doing them regularly.
