It's a real damning indictment of the current state of our political system when the only real alternative to the incumbent government celebrate quite a big loss.
Hopefully though this will give the government a good kick up the arse.

I think in the 2015 election if PR had been used, UKIP would have had something like 28 seats. I know this time they wouldn't but the benefits aren't always positive for PR.
Off the top of my head UKIP had 4m votes last time and 1 MP whereas the SNP had 2m and 50+, not that I'd want UKIP to have more MPs but that's just plain wrong.
Same as the ridiculous 'safe seats' we have, Diane Abbott (for instance) just got returned with a staggering majority so there's really no point in voting for anyone else in her constituency as your vote would be worthless.
