There's no issue with discussions during polling times we just can't run a poll, there will be loads here who will want to rant & rave all day long I'd imagine

Whilst the former is extremely unlikely I doubt there's a country in the world who have or will ever be able to end it completely unfortunately.

Some people choose to be homeless, but you can certainly create a policy that guarantees some form of rudimentary living accommodation for everyone.

I doubt it's as simple as a policy otherwise it would've been done decades ago.

It's a real damning indictment of the current state of our political system when the only real alternative to the incumbent government celebrate quite a big loss.
Hopefully though this will give the government a good kick up the arse.

I think in the 2015 election if PR had been used, UKIP would have had something like 28 seats. I know this time they wouldn't but the benefits aren't always positive for PR.

Off the top of my head UKIP had 4m votes last time and 1 MP whereas the SNP had 2m and 50+, not that I'd want UKIP to have more MPs but that's just plain wrong.
Same as the ridiculous 'safe seats' we have, Diane Abbott (for instance) just got returned with a staggering majority so there's really no point in voting for anyone else in her constituency as your vote would be worthless.

Did you see my post earlier? He was under 3000 votes away from being able to form a Government...

Has there been a similar stat published as to how many votes the Tories were away from retaining or extending a majority just out of interest?
I have a feeling it may be even less than 3000.
