Experiences of RepairTech?

Just had a Hanns.G 28" TFT monitor exchanged by RepairTech under a 3 year warranty. My original monitor had an intermittent fault, the monitor they sent me worked(mostly) for an evening and now doesn't display a picture at all. I have dual Hanns.G monitors and this is the second time they've exchanged one of my non-working monitors for one of their own non-working replacements.

Does anyone have any experience dealing with RepairTech? They seem like a bunch of jokers. </rant>

Just had my BenQ FP241W replaced by them, replacement's DVI port doesn't work. Good job monitor has a HDMI port... or not. Maximum resolution I can get over HDMI is 1920x1080, and it doesn't even display that right. Currently using VGA 1920x1200 but it looks weird.

I was recommended RepairTech when I called Viewsonic for advice as warranty had ran out. After speaking to them and researching online, they seem like a typical joke of a company taking on private and insurance covered work. Monkeys in the call centre and minimalist generically trained cowboys for technicians. So I found a small independent outfit who quoted me a reasonable price and the technician has replaced lamps in both my Viewsonics. Personal service and quick too. would have been a nightmare going through RepairTech I would imagine.

I bought the same Hanns G monitor from overclockers which developed a fault just over a month ago, repairtech shipped me a faulty monitor as a replacement. When I emailed them to say it was faulty they didn't respond so I phoned them and got them to arrange another exchange.
They then cancelled the exchange saying they had no stock and no due date.

Two weeks later I phoned them up and they said they had stock and arranged an exchange, then they yet again phoned me to cancel for the same reason.

I'm still waiting for a replacement monitor 1 month on, so far I've put a complaint in on their website and also emailed Hanns G direct but have had no response from either.

My guess is they are shipping faulty monitors because they have no good stock. Appalling service.

My saga with RepairTech continued after they sent me a replacement with a broken DVI port. The the next replacement the screen was totally white. Then the next replacement they sent me my original monitor back :)

At that point BenQ offered me a new monitor, but it was a budget 20" thing and I didn't want it. So I am currently back to square one.

Did you complain directly to BenQ or did repairtech refer you?

Repairtech are swapping my monitor again tomorrow, but I'm not holding my breath.

at least you managed to get through to someone at BenQ all contact details for hannsg lead back to repairtech and since they treat customers how they like it's a nightmare to deal with

and yes they did exactly the same to me. faulty monitor sent back twice and still have the broken monitor here now. emailed customer services 2 working days ago after trying to contact someone at hannsg and still no reply.

Hopeless, excuse my French but I wouldn't **** on them if they were on fire.Three months seems to be th average wait time with them and im pretty certain some poor guy has been waiting around 9 months now for the same monitor I had.I think the thread was called monitor kaput if memory serves.

Anywho, don't go near them they have no redeeming features whatsoever.

Here's the thread http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18195232&highlight=Monitor+kaput do yourself a favour.....read it and then you will understand everyone's aversion to this shoddy outfit ;)

why are people allowing this to happen?

I happened to mention this company to some freinds last night, two out of the six of us has had exactly the same experience though different manufacturers.

I've found posts dating back to 2001 from people working for the manufacturers complaining that this company is being paid and not looking after customers. Why is this rogue company still being allowed to trade? why are the authorities doing nothing about it?

i've filled out my report form on the bbc watchdog site. go do the same guys we might actually shame this company into giving the manufacturers and us as consumers a beter service.

why are power buyers like overclockers and other online retailers doing nothing about it? is it because it generates extra sales?

onto trading standards again on monday as they are just ignoring emails now:(

About 3/4 of them :P

should give watchdog something to go on then and brilliant publicity for all the manufacturers and resellers that are allowing this to happen. would make a good story, get a reporter to pose as a tv repair man/office worker and find out how this company really works.

Do Iiyama use Repairtech?
I was considering buying one of the HannsG 27.5" monitors, but after learning they use RepairTech my enthusiasm has vanished and I'm looking at the 27" Iiyama Prolite (even though it is 1080). Do Iiyama use RepairTech?

I know this is an old thread but i had 3 replaced by them in less than 2 years and now the 4th one has failed out of warranty. They suck.
