I find it kind of rich that the recent defense of wanting to remove the "leaked unphotoshopped photo" was essentially "it's so hard for me people don't understand the huge amount of pressure I'm under to look perfect etc. etc."... I am just finding myself thinking; you put out edited photos of yourself and have set that expectation yourself haven't you? Not to mention piling that same kind of pressure you're complaining is so tough onto lots of other youngsters who see your pictures
As usual - the reaction is the very thing that has exploded this story. If she'd just taken it on the chin (especially after she has uploaded less flattering pics of herself to promote body positivity), it would have blown over.
Consider the fact it may well be intentional? Or even if not intentional certainly then immediately manipulated and managed to be beneficial which is incredible.
It's quite the mental gymnastics to be suggesting these folks are morons whilst at the same time pointing to their social media antics etc as proof of their being morons but also fuelling the very same fire that has helped them stay relevant and then leverage that relevance into branding/TV/endorsements etc that have made them all seriously wealthy.
The skill they all possess of managing images and essentially forcing big chunks of the world to pay attention is very impressive. Even those of you who are swearing up and down you've never heard of them and don't know what this is all about... 1) rubbish and 2) well now you do and you're in and contributing to their continued success. Even outrage/disgust/anger and mockery are better than being ignored.
The simple point point I was making on the previous page is that this thread is peak ocuk GD, it's like catnip and you can guess the responses before you even read it.. It may well have been titled "here is my straw man, now get at it ocuk knock it down good boy good boy yes!"
