Exposing Heightism

I'm somewhere around 5'6 it's never caused me any issues, unless it comes to reaching the high shelf :p

I don't see the problem with girls wanting a tall man, I also would prefer a tall leggy woman, thats not a bad thing. I also want one that is beautiful and intelligent. I don't see a problem with seeing being short as a bad thing, it is a bad thing. tough luck.

I am 6.0, wouldn't mind being a couple of inches taller but I can't complain really.

1.) You suck :p

2.) The problem comes when women reject men solely for not being as tall as they want. As in, could be great in every way but being short is the dealbreaker that they can't get over. I'm sure a lot of guys want a girl with a nice chest package, but will easily compromise if the girl herself is great. That kind of thing.

I have 2 friends like this, both are 5'8, and won't date men under 6' as they need to be taller than them when in heels.

I queried them about this, as I also felt it a bit weird to right off a perfect guy who is just 2 inches too short, and as it turns out it's more to do with how they feel about themselves than the actual guy's height. They said they just don't feel feminine when they are taller than their partner, and feel like they look all gangly or Miranda Heart-esque.

I kinda see their point, as I have similar reservations about girls over size 12, as I am pretty slender for a guy, having a gf who is broader than me makes me feel a bit weird.

That said, my friends don't spout vitriol about shorter men, they just don't date them.

Being 5'8 I have noticed this issue with women not dating short guys all my life, well dating life anyway. I have had conversations with some of my girl friends about this and they all say that they want a guy who is taller than them in heels, ideally 6ft or more. Having said that, I have had girlfriends who have been taller than me in heels, and they were not as bothered as they say I make up my height in other places.

I suppose it all depends on the girl you meet, but tbh it does bother most women. I did notice after a stint on POF a while back, before I met my current girfriend 5'7", that there were a LOT of women who wrote that they wanted a guy who was tall. I did feel that this has disadvantaged me somewhat over the years in a broader market of women.

I have always been happy with my height, after all I have to live with it and I can't change it. If these women are adament they want to cut out a huge chunk of decent men out there, then let them be foreveralone.jpg

If some girls don't find shorter men attractive it's not really their fault, and there is not much they can do. But what those girls were saying was horrible bile and is just nasty.

Twitter (well the internet really) does seem to bring out the worst in people.

I can see people becoming far more aware of the repercussions of what they say online in the future but stupid people will always say stupid things.

Do other taller than average people find it odd when you meet someone considerably taller than you?
Being 6ft 3 it doesn't happen all that often, so it feels quite weird having to look up to someone.

I'm 6'2" and I was in a gallery the other day when a guy about a foot taller than me walked in. I was in awe.

Same, walked past a dude last week and my eyes were only level with his chest. I wouldn't like to be much taller than 6'2" though, friend who is 6ft 6 says it starts to get very hard to find clothes that fit correctly, also he has back problems.

All you need to know is.. if the height difference between you and your lass (or lad) is that much... then get them to wear heels for certain activities, otherwise it plays havoc with your knees ;-)
