Exposing Heightism

I hate people who say us short guys seem to have a chip on their shoulders. If anyone said that to me I'd find a step ladder and smack them one in the jaw.

"In brightest day, in blackest night,

No man-let shall escape my sight.

Let those who worship man-let's plight

Beware my power--Green Lantern's light!"

Lots of tall people look malformed anyway...many are gawky and awkwardly lanky. Often have those outward pointing lower legs etc..and hardly any seem to lift..

Being 6'5 doesnt mean a thing if you weigh 10 stone. :o

ROFL.... chip.shoulder.

Not at all. As I said earlier, never experienced any kind of heightism.

I mean look..I know this was posted as a joke but jesus.

And if their family owns a distillery (not Bells) then...

If I met such a girl, I'd have to get the marriage sack out a la Borat. :p

Well, a positive bias :D.

But I'm sure some accents are enough to put you off, as are some heights, weights or a hundred other factors.

Without offending any particular regional accents, this is true. ;)

Probably does. You're 'excluding others' that may feel 'prejudiced and extremely upset' over your choice :p

What, all 1 of them? :p

I'm 6'2" and I was in a gallery the other day when a guy about a foot taller than me walked in. I was in awe.

Haha, same here. I'm 6'2 and met a guy in Sweden that was just under 7'. Was with my girlfriend and this guy's wife in their kitchen. When he walked into the door the door frame looked pathetically small. He was massive. Funny thing is, his dad and his brother calls him 'shorty' as he's the 'small' one in the family. Apparently his old man is 7'1 and his brother around 7'2

To be fair this threat is not about inconvenience, it's about discrimination based on height, ie stuff like manlet, teasing, work place discrimination, and what you saw on twitter.

The inconvenience of opposite sex not liking certain traits or being too tall to need to bend all the time or too short to tip toe or have a step stool with you is not what this threat is about, although some whining about inconveniences were mentioned.

Fair point although being taller than average I quite often get comments about my height so it's not just people at the shorter end of the spectrum that are teased, it doesn't bother me much but it does happen.

Do other taller than average people find it odd when you meet someone considerably taller than you?
Being 6ft 3 it doesn't happen all that often, so it feels quite weird having to look up to someone.

I don't find it odd although seemingly my friends do, there's been a number of times in bars when I've been called over with "he's taller than you - look!". I'm still not sure what they're expecting me to do at this juncture so I usually say congratulations to the taller person and go back to whatever I was doing before. However if I see someone taller than me on the Tube then my first instinct is sympathy as I know how awkward it can be there if you're slightly above average height.

short folks are only good for getting stuff from the bottom shelf in the shops........jks :P

But just be pleased with what you have people.

Women really doing know what they want, plenty of time i got turned down and i am 6'6.

Incorrect assumptions that you can't get tall manlets.

A 6 foot 4 guy who weighs 11 stone is still a manlet, just one that will struggle to find clothes that fit.
