Watched the first episode this morning. So far it seems promising but there were quite a few moments where i had that "I've seen this before" feeling, mostly with the robot child but also quite a few of the elements surrounding Halle Berry's story reminded me of the cancelled (but excellent) Defying mavity.

From what i can gather it's only meant to be a 13 episode mini-series which could be a good thing, but then again Under the Dome from the same channel was also meant for the same and look how that turned out. I imagine the cost of this one will keep it at one season though.

Yeah, I also enjoyed it. Will definitely continue to watch :D

Would love for it to be more than one season.

Is this released as a series or episodic / week on Amazon Prime? I'm assuming it's the latter, so may have to use my Prime Trial to watch it.

I havnt caught it yet and spent this morning looking at it wondering if it would be worth bothering with, I saw you mentioned this along with under the dome and actually found this while reading up on Extant in tvrage.com

"Extant is a very original concept with layers of humanity, mystery and surprise that reveal itself throughout the script," said Nina Tassler, President of CBS Entertainment. "Our partnership with Amblin for Under the Dome showed that viewers respond to high-quality event programming in the summer. We look forward to building on that with Extant and offering CBS audiences another high-concept, unique event for summer television."

Steven Spielberg will executive-produce "Extant" alongside Greg Walker, Brooklyn Weaver, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank and Mickey Fisher, who will also pen the project. (Source: CBS)

So I will watch what you guys have to say and blame you all if I watch it and it sucks :D .

Didn't really like it :( . Seemed a bit of a mess to me, a mixture of unoriginal ideas blended together, an unremarkable/uninteresting lead actress/character and an altogether lifeless and melancholy feel to the show.

Starting to enjoy this quite a bit now. I'd almost wrote it off after the first 3 episodes but it's picked up nicely.

even film stars have to age, she's 48 and starting to fray around the edges, which is great to see - she could have gone for full hollywood makeup and looked totally unrealistic.

She looks great!

I am really loving this at the moment!

Cant wait for Episode 9.

Its something different and also something to watch considering all the good stuff has wound down or is about to wind down in the next month or two.

:( I need more scifi stuff.
