Hey Guys,

I have an OCZ Agility3 SSD 60GB for my system volume, and another 120GB one for data currently, and with my return to PC gaming I am finding the system drive too small in capacity and would like to extend it.

The thing is, this is also my work system and I simply cannot reformat / swap my current system drive for a new one because it takes forever to set my pc up for work.

So my question is, can I buy another of these SSD drives and extend my C: volume onto the new one, without borking up my system?

Here is what my disk manager looks like...

If I right click the C: volume the option to extend volume is greyed out - any ideas why?

Many thanks!!

No,what you do is when installing anything click custom and point it to your extra storage hdd and it will install to there

Id choose a big 2tb or 3tb hdd and keep your current ssd with the operating system on it,that's how I have my pc setup,60gb ssd for os and 2tb hdd for storage/games/programs ect

Buy a bigger SSD and clone your existing OS drive onto it. Then install the new drive in place of the old one.

You'll then have the option to expand the OS partition to fill the available space. You may also have the option of expanding the partition during the cloning process, it'll depend on the software used.

Thanks for the tips guys - in the end I decided to buy another Agility 3 SSD which I will install steam on and use exclusivly for games. I just couldn't face going back to mech drives, even just for data.

Oh and I bought a brand new IPS monitor as well :p
