External hard drive enclosures

Hello,

My backup solution needs revamping. I currently have an internal 500GB hardrive that is more or less full, so I am thinking of taking that up to 1TB by buying an identical drive and having them both in a RAID 0 configuration.

However, I am also keen to backup my data on a 1:1 ratio using Retrospect, and my external 400GB hardrive is pretty full at the moment. So I am thinking of getting an external hardrive enclosure for two hardrives and putting another two 500GB drives in that to backup my stuff onto. So I am basically looking for an external hardrive enclosure that will house two or more drives. I did briefly have a look at NAS but it seems to be very, very expensive and they do not seem to sell the enclosures seperately and cheaply.

So yeah, any help/advice will be greatly appreciated

It is very nice...but £165 is well out of my price range...then I have to buy the actual hardrives themselves.

You know raid0 has no redundancy right?

I dont see much point putting 2*500GB in raid0... unless it was for performance reasons (which you dont mention). Personally i would only consider putting raptors in raid0, and i would only do it for performance reasons.

Why dont u just buy a 1TB drive and get yourself an external enclosure for it?
