External Hard Drive Problem

My external hard drive doesnt seem to want to work on my pc, but works fine with my laptop :confused:

plau it into my pc with both cables (as i usually do) and it just bleeps at me, plus it into my laptop and its fine

Is this a problem with my USB ports on my PC or something wrong with the HD?

It's possible that the ports aren't supplying enough power to the drive. Are you using ports on the I/O backplate or ones connected to mobo headers?

they come form the front of my pc, so mobo headers. It used to work fine, then used to play for a bit then start the bleeping, now it just isnt having any of it

also, everything else seems to work fine in the fornt USB ports, charging MP3 player for example :confused:
