External Hard Drives

At present I have 2x Seagate FreeAgent Pro hard drives (first generation) and thinking about replacing them. I was looking at the getting the Western Digital My Book Essential until I read that it had a partition which cannot be delete and it contains WD software.

What other external hardrive would you recommend or and enclosure that I can add the hard drives?

Connecting using USB2.0.

i have a buffalo 1tb external hard drive, that has been very good, i have had it for a year. i also have a WD my book, and they are totally unrealiable,i have been through 3 of them!

I have a WD My Book Elite. Have a system image on it and continuous backup enabled. Looks nice and just sits on the background doing it's thing.

Is this for backup or expansion?
