Im looking to buy a new ext. hard drive soon but as the title suggests I want to avoid one with their own software.
I bought a seagate ceedo for my girlfriend a couple of years back and was a little annoyed to find that it uses a windows-style start menu to access files that sits on your desktop, looking ugly, uncustomizable and in the way.
So can anybody name some of the companies I should avoid and the companies
I should look to. Im wanting an extHD that basically acts the same way as a memory stick or intHD, i.e. a folder that I just access via My Computer.
Thanks
