Looking for a bit of help on what to get.

I think I'm after a external hdd caddy, I need something that I can put a hard drive from inside a computer into so I can plug in a USB port to access. Is there any that accommodate both sizes? Don't need anything swish just for occasional use. Do ocuk do any?

OcUK are quite expensive for what is basically a metal box and a little circuit board, have a look around and you should find them a lot cheaper.

I've owned this Akasa DouDock for a while, could be knocking on 3 years, and has been a bargain buy for shifting data via eSata. I would recommend you only buy one to use eSata port with.

There was one unreliable Caviar Green drive (well I've owned 4 and they are all knackered now) that failed a SMART test and wasn't readable in any PC due to data corruption despite being detected in BIOS. But this docking station could read and write data for long enough for me to buy a replacement and ditch that last CG.

As a quick test I've ran ATTO on a Caviar Black 2TB, bit OTT but it's what I use. You certainly get near SATA-II speeds, I don't have a SATA-III SSD to test the full potential which is a shame.
