Hi

I have created folder on my HDD for backing up all my music, films, pictures and so on.

I have taken my HDD to work today and my music folder was giving me an error when trying to access the folder of "You don't currently have permission to access this folder". I googled this and added my work user name into the security permissions and I now have access but the following problem.....

The folder has a lock symbol on it so I tried to add "everyone" into the groups or user names section! now the file does not appear locked but every single music file within my folders has a lock on it?

Please can someone help me to get this folder to act as any other standard folder on the HDD, I don't want to have any issues with access and I don't need my folder to be locked and I have no bloody idea how it became locked.

I have attempted to fix this and looked it up but im not getting very far.

Thanks

taken into work? your work pcs are on a network i presume? sure it just not the security stuff preventing you from using it as any half decent network would prevent?

its a point.....but why would it just lock down my one folder? anyway I will take it home tonight and let you know what happens in my own PC.

I have used this in work before and listened to music. I was watching avi's from it on my work PC just this morning.

Funny enough the folder does not appear locked on my home PC.

Im confused with this because why would it only be the music folder thats locked down? what about any other folders? makes no sense.
