You should be able to get some data back with either testdisk or active@ file recovery.

I've got 2 of these and had same problem with both. First one was issue with USB extrnsion I was using and second was issue with USB cable itself.

If you have it plugged into a USB extension cable the try plugging it in directly. If not try a new USB cable

Restore from your backu....

We have way too many threads that start like this. Backup backup backup!

I know I don't have some of things backed up, also I have already tried a different cable and same problem persists I will look at the data recovery u mentioned but will it be able to access the drive ?

What is best brands western digital or SanDisk?

Have you checked in disk management to see if its listed there and its current state since as it's shown in device manager but not in my computer it's likely that something has happened to the hard drive and the computer thinks that it hasn't been initialised.

If it is being shown in disk management, then recovery tools might be able to find the files on the drive unless something else has been done to the drive whilst it was connected to the TV that has wiped everything from the drive (if recovery tools don't find anything, then that is what has most likely happened).
