I understand what "happy" is, but is difficult to define in a way in which one can apply to a human. For instance one can describe a general sense of "happiness", but can one define it in such a way that it can be consistently used throughout the human race?

I don't know, but there is a reason (and I will state it now).

Basically for me to tell whether I want to be "happy" I would have to be able to compare "happy" to the status in a number of different situations. The difficulty is that "happiness" changes a lot and I don't know (and I don't think anyone does know) a way to properly define it so that the word "happy" means the same in all circumstances.

I would say that it is better for people to be happy as it is better for mental health.

This thread has actually made me think about how I wasn't as logical as I could be before. I thought about the situation and I can tell now that logic is the only way to live. I simply don't understand a better way to conduct oneself than in a logical way.

For the record, Angus, if you are indeed genuine (and i offer no opinion on this as i haven't read all that many of your posts - just enough to get the gist) then you have a very different viewpoint to most i've encountered. I realise I'm not treading new ground with that statement.

But, this: Alternate viewpoints and perspectives are a good thing. There aren't all that many of them around, generally, so why lambast and pick on this guy?

Angus, all it seems you know how to do is merely write statements that you believe are factual. You have never at any point displayed any signs of emotions whatsoever nor admit that you feel them.

Given a year or two, I could probably design an automatic script that displays more personality than you. People with no signs of personality bore me, especially when it is deliberate. If I was looking for definitions to words I would look them up for myself.

You seem to serve no purpose other than regurgitate "processed" information that you have learned, or describe your current state, which the majority of people do not find very useful nor entertaining, which is the main purpose of any communication medium.

in other news: i used to be quite logical and 'disconnected' about stuff, although never to this extent (if this extent is even real, natch). life improved considerably as i grew out of this

I don't actually have any games for my XBox (I lent the only [broken] game to a person in my class at school). I haven't played my Nintendo DS Lite for approximately a year (not quite as long as that, but it has been many months).

I do play computer games however. I have made threads about them. I mainly play Flash games on the Internet.

Why do you play games?
