Eye contact when communicating

I don't know why. I play them for a challenge I suppose. For example I tried to get the "Great Score" rating on all levels of a game entitled "Downhill Mayhem", and after many hours I succeeded.

:D your taking a step back on the logical thing now that you have been caught out! admit that it is a bit of an act and come out of your shell!

Not true. Everyone who read the thread I made (several hours ago) about that game will see that I play it.

I am logical, and I still cannot see any way other than logic to live. I don't know why, but I cannot understand things that are not easily explainable with logic (to a degree).

Maybe people should speak about the topic of the thread now (as it is not a good idea to go off topic to such an extent).

Generally speaking I don't make eye contact with people - if I do, it is usually a conscious effort on my part (say in an interview situation). This has been commented on occasionally.

Part of the reason for this is that because I'm visually impaired, I don't use visual signals all that much myself. In fact sometimes at work If I'm talking to someone off to my side I'll only turn to face them slightly, definitely not looking at their eyes/face. I tend to be influenced more by audio cues (tone of voice, phrases used) etc - in fact I can often recognise people coming by the sound of their walk.

It's also possible that I have something in my mental makeup which causes me to be this way - my sister has Asperger's and I do share some traits with her. Subconciously I think my reaction is "if I stare at this person for too long, I'm gonna appear weird".

dude, ask you tutor if you can be assessed to see if you are on the autistic scale. Seriously.

He clearly has Aspergers Syndrome.

People with this show very little emotion or personality and have very little ability to read others emotions. They type and talk like an English professor and are the first to correct others that don’t. They see everything logically and cannot understand anything that is not based on logic. They have great trouble maintaining eye contact. And they generally believe they are right and will never give up until they convince everyone else of that fact.

Holy thread revival batman!

On a serious note, I usually look at peoples mouths if I can't decide on the eye contact. Also helps me listen if they're quiet.

Angus, how does continually replying to messages regarding your efficiency make you efficient. Is there not a more efficient use of your time? You're not going to reply, are you.
