Eye Floaters

I also get these when looking at bright light, they're perfectly normal.

What I hate though is the pinpricks of light that float across my vision occasionally, something similar to the visual aura experienced with a migraine. They suck.

I get those too! it's usually an alternative to head rush, like I'm sitting down, get up and WHOAH! I'm seeing tiny stars floating around!

Maybe it's strange matter :p

I'll try grabbing some next time and doing a Hadoken.

The only time to be concerned about them is if you suddenly get an increase in the number or they suddenly appear in one eye when you've only ever had them in the other. Can be symptomatic of detached retina starting - go see optician.

Just crap on the inside of your eye ball, I think I remember reading a while ago that there is a operation they can do to fix it but its not nice and involves draining the eyeball and replacing the fluid with saline or something... :D

If you trust the NHS website:

Floaters
Introduction

Floaters are tiny, dark, shadowy spots that appear in front of your eye. They are quite common and are more likely to develop as the eyes get older.

Floaters may appear as small dots or strands. You may notice lots of floaters in your vision or just one or two, and they may appear to move when your eyes move. Floaters look as though they are in front of your eye, but they are in fact shadows from tissue particles in the back of the eye.

Floaters are usually harmless and often don't affect vision. Although they may be annoying at first, your brain slowly learns to ignore them, and you may not even notice them after a few months.

Go see an optician.

Last time I was there they asked if I saw anything strange, I told them about my floaters and they said thats no problem but its serious if you start seeing lights.

It's like "seeing" pins and needles except without any pain or any side affect other than seeing tiny floaters that are white in colour for a few seconds!

It does not occur after having a migraine or anything, just random (rare but random)

Oh squiggly line in my eye fluid.
I see you lurking there on the periphery of my vision.
But when I try to look at you, you scurry away.
Are you shy, squiggly line?
Why only when I ignore you, do you return to the center of my eye?
Oh, squiggly line,
it's alright, you are forgiven.
