Eyefinity Screenshot Thread.

Looks amazing but overkill just to play a game on a pc, I mean how much are those monitors? Great if you use them for you work but for gaming OTT

Are you insane? Youre in the OcUK forums! Spending more than £500 on your entire setup is daft to the average Joe. This is just the latest, and possibly greatest way to splash the cash PLUS you get your view tripled! How is that not worth it for gaming???

Think of the mouse. You dont move the mouse 180 to look behind you right? Same with trackir and believe me, just as intuitive.

A mouse is attached to my hand though and its movements align the view to where my head is pointing.

My eyes are attached to my head and the view moves around with my head, so if I want to look to the right, I move my head to the right but what I wanted to see is now in the 'centre' of my vision.

Are you supposed to move your head but keep your eyes focussed in the same place?

Yes, and it is incredibly intuitive, once you've played a game with TrackIR set up properly you'll hate being without it.

Find somebody local to you with one, go try it for yourself.

The bezel spoils it. Bring on some OLED monitors, not for some time yet but maybe then i'll take a liking to multiple montior setups for gaming.

The bezels do not spoil it. Everyone says that until they try it.
People presume thats all you stare at. They make no difference what so ever.

Your focal point is not on them.

+1 you really should give it a go, i have let a couple of my mates try it, one of them ordered one straight away, the other said he was very impressed at how natural and easy it is to use but didn't play enough of the games that use it to justify the price.

That's all nice but no surround? :)

Anyhow as long as you like it that's what matters, right? :)

I like the technology just not the current state (regarding montiors), maybe in a few years when OLED hits us at affordable prices (cough). Actually that could be 6 years+ so not anytime soon.

Here comes a big post:

Few Tips

Most games need Camera/FOV hacks to allow games to sure at these ridiculous resolutions and aspect ratios. Racer S from the Widescreen Gaming Forum is one of the top hackers out there, check out the following link for fixes:

If you are planning to upgrade for an Eyefinity setup make sure you have a monitor with a Display Port or an ACTIVE DVI/VGA to DP adapter, the cheapest monitors with Native Display Ports is Dell generally.

Terminology
FOV = Field Of View
DP = Display Port

System Spec:

- Intel Quad Core Q6600 @ Stock
- ATI Radeon HD XFX 1GB 5870
- 4 GB DDR2 Ram
- Asus P5k Motherboard
- Dell P2210H 21.5" Monitor (native display port)
- 2x BenQ G2220HDA
- Logitech G25 Racing Wheel(in some shots)

Still a lot of tweaking needs doing to the monitors... I just need to find the time! That is why they are levelled using newspaper :(

Game shots:
Most of these don't include AA

Works okay with the camera hack but it won't let me enable AA, lags like mad/black screen, Here is the Camera Hack:

Dirt 2

Pics also coming soon... (maybe tomorrow depending how well steam performs).

Works straight out of the box without any issues.

Had to mess around with the amount of AA before it would load properly but fine now with a slight bit of HUD clipping between the centre + the 2 side monitors.

HUDs a bit broke but fixes are coming along nicely.

Worked fine just needed to shrink my crosshair.

Works perfectly with most mods, I found some decrease the FOV but that can probably be easily fixed with editing some configs.

If you find any typos/dodgy links tell me :)

i suppose its similar to when driving a real car and you look left to right for traffic, you dont really notice the door pillars, looking really good though, anyone run this with 3 identical monitors ? or is it too costly at the mo

Well if you can find a cheap working VGA adapter/DP adapter you could buy 3 cheepo monitors which I was going to do but I couldn't find the adapters for undert £70 so it was cheaper to buy the dell + 2 cheap Ben Qs :) (Around 350ish for the lot) But either way cheapest you would get 3 monitors is £300.
