Eyefinity Screenshot Thread.

If i told you, id have to kill you :P

I work for a games publisher, thats all youre getting out of me :) Dont want anything to follow me back incase i post anything controversial

I'm (slowly) joining the EyeFinity group as well.

I already had 1 x 2405FPW, I've just added a U2410 (with the DP) for the centre and will pickup another 2405FPW from somewhere in the near future.

I'm still debating what GFX card to get. I instantly told myself that there is no way I'll be spending £500+ on a 5900 series ATI, however, I do love my "everything on" settings in my games, so I may end up saving for a little while longer (whilst potentially allowing prices to drop a touch) and getting a 5970. Failing that, I'll pickup a 5870 and look at the OC options.

Current spec is:

Q6600 @ 3.5ghz
Asus P5K Premium
4gb DDR2
120gb G.Skill Falcon SSD
Nvidia 9800 GX2

Can't wait to get this badboy up and running! My favourite games are L4D and BF2, with a bit of Borderlands thrown in, and may invest in MW2 in the near future as well.

Thumbs up to this thread, subscribed! :D

Just a quick shot of the Test Drive Unlimited snow mod :p

I am not convinced about multi monitor gaming. Personally, I would go for one large screen at the highest res available.

Why? because I have tried gaming on a projector and became motion sick. If my entire perspective if filled with moving images I become a bit nauseous.

I think the x1050 res is horrible.

The bezels would get in the way.

Cost of getting a decent set up is prohibitive.

Graphics card question time:

What card would you use for 3 x 24" monitor setup running games at 5760x1200 with settings on high (not max) i.e. Detail at a reasonably high setting, but not maxing Anti-Aliasing bits and bobs etc.

Would you go for (a more cost effective) 5870 (and water cool it?) or save up and buy a 5970?

it might be a no brainer to ask as I guess the answer is "if you can afford it, get a 5970", but I want to find out if I actually "need" a 5970 to get the desired performance from games that I play (primarily L4D2, BF2, Borderlands - basically FPS's exclusively), or would a 5870 be powerful enough?

I'd also want to water cool it, not only to OC the 5870, but mainly to cut the noise out. My current GFX card (a 9800GX2) is irritating me by being so loud! I've turned the fans down to a reasonable 50%, but I can still hear it! lol

So which card are you using, or would you use and why?

Sorry for the questions, but I’m an ignoramus when it comes to ATI as I’ve always had Nvidia stuff, so have no idea how fast the 4800, 5800 and 5900 series are.

(Oh, and also, am very VERY eagerly awaiting the next Battlefield game, so wouldn't want to run out of horsepower when it arrives next year, not sure what kind of performance the game is going to require, but being on Eyefinity it would be a shame to run it on low settings!

Thanks for any advice chaps. :)

A 5870 should be able to max it, with no AA of course.
Basically i just use a 5870, and im gonna pick up another cheap next year, both gonna e watercooled at some point for decent overclocks.
You've just gotta keep in mind, AA has a massive impact at this res.

Its funny how people whine about the bezels, thats irrelevent, like we've all said through out this thread, your still focus on the centre screen, its not as if your gonna be focusing on half of one and half of another.

Also in terms of the cost it doesn't cost that much actually, a monitor at 2560x****+ costs a lot more. If your looking st 3x22".

And obviously i cant comment on nausia, as i dont get it myself.

How about 3 of them then?

Shame it's ress is so low. (and the insane price iirc 3 bezelless oled screens would cost les than 1 of them.)

and the horrific widescreen implementation of the game.
