Hello guys

I m thinking of getting a eyeinfinty setup, ethoir with this rig in sig or my next one. I m just wondering what ever body else has done, what GPU setups they got etc

if I do manage to get the funding it will only be £600 for two more monitors and one or two cards.

currently I game at 1080 (maybe 1200) on my 24inch Samsung T240, with 4 AA and 16x AF any suggestions.

many thanks

well if you wait til next build you can a) save a little more money and b) hope the prices come down a bit, personally Id try n get another 2 T240s so you have 3 monitors the same, if you got different monitors it could appear strange with different panels being used, even having 3 the same theres a cetain amount of difference due to panel non-uniformity but at least it would be minimised, Ive thought about it myself but unfortunately my monitor is HP LP2475W making an additional 2 and a 5 series card an expensive prospect, reckon itll wait til next build, like my WC I keep thinking about :D

I think it looks better to have 3 identical monitors but u'll also need an active DP->DVI adaptor which is approx £80. U could get one more T240 and one T240HD so one is a TV for those times when u wanna game and watch something ;)

I'd stick with ur current rig tho (other than gfx upgrade) as all is good stuff, however i dont see u getting 2 more monitors AND a 5870/5970 (5850 wouldnt do that res justice) for £600 :( Unless ur desperate for eyefinity now, what u have is a very decent setup!

Could you get a TripleHead2Go, then you wouldn't have to replace your graphics cards? It wouldn't technically be Eyefinity but you'd get the same affect. I believe TH and SoftTH can also do something about screen bezels, which Eyefinity doesn't support.

I m not planning to touch this rig no more sept for the following, GPUs/HDD/RAM only as said its fine, if it was not good enough I would have sorted it by now.

so I only need 2 more monitors and the GPUs if I ever get the funding for it :( it will be defo next year... if anything, nothing stopping me from buying another T240 this year through :P

you could find 3 screens with hdmi to avoid buying and adaptor

This wouldnt work as the HDMI port and DVI port on the 58** cards are shared so u can either use 2xDVi and one DP or 1xDVI, 1xDP and 1xHDMI but in each case for eyefinity to work the DP port must be used.

Don't go anywhere near SoftTH.

I have wasted too long trying to get things to work. Hours and hours. It just crashes most software (only got the L4D series working in the end and frame rates were more than halved by softth).

Yet! It'll be brought in as a feature soon.

It's still worth a try, I've managed to get softth to run some games quite nicely actually without too much fuss.

Sounds like you just had some issues with it that you couldn't overcome.

doesn't th2go cap out at 1050 or something?

well hopefully time I get the cash to do it, the display adaptors would have come down I don't even know why they are £80, only adaptors for crying out loud. or manage to get a monitor with display port, unlikely but hay.

what sort of GPU set up would I be looking at here? everyone seems to be fixated on monitors and how to connect them rather than the cards themselves xD

thank you, I was thinking two 22inchs tbh, but once that match the spec of my current...

wondering if Samsung do the T220 with display port.....

my fault for getting a fairly decent monitor :p

a lot more than i throught with them tbh

This is the only decent priced monitor I've seen with display port.
I have two DVI BenQ's so just got one of these to couple up.

yes, all the rest are over £400.............>_>

I will give them a consideration, just need to get funds togther also, does the cable come with them or it for display port? or do you have to buy that separate
