what problems have you encountered with steam? i think its a brilliant service. better get used to it because the most anticipated upcoming games like fear require steam. (dawn of war 2, empire total war)

Bit off that has been released but no-one except pirates can play it yet......
the release day is tomorrow. pirates get to play games early most of the time.

As long as its ready for tomorrow evening I don't really care. Not even sure why I've bought it, was really disappointed by the demo. Just hoping the full game will be a huge improvement. We'll see.

Just finshed playing the demo, liked it very much. Quite a few jumpy moments which was nice and overall very impressed. Might have to install the first again though as it has been a while since i completed it.

One thing i did notice in the demo was that it had massive stuttering every so often, often lasting for a good second or so. Not sure whether any of you guys had that too?

Happens in the game to, pauses all the time the action starts, so say you walk into a room, it will pause, enemy bloke runs in, you kill him, it will pause again, then another guy comes in, rinse repeat, and if theres more than one comes in, it stutters like ****, as it has to keep pausing for them all.:(

Yep, well described :). Hope the full game isnt like that (wouldnt have thought it would be) as when it isnt pausing it runs really well.

People with 19" 1280x1024 monitors.

If you drop the res to 1280x900 the borders decress. Ive tried it in 1280x720 where you get no borders but the screen its stretched quite badly. Im guessing its still stretched in 1280x900 but you dont really notice it. Try it guys, see what res is best for you.

Doesn't for me, im also on 1280x1024 (but 17"), and any res i tried had the same huge bars top and bottom, only the sides changed.

They don't decrease for me the lower i go, unlike the demo, as i played that just about full screen at 1280x800, i only had 2x very thin bars top and bottom on that, but same res in the game, and i get the same huge bars as i do at 1280x1024, or any res.

Decided to have another try playing it now, and im actually getting used to the letterbox format, i also turned off AA which seems to have sorted a lot of the pausing/stuttering, so its playing better now as well, and im actually enjoying it now to. :)

That buzzing noise on the PDA is bloody annoying though. :p
