F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin Demo OUT N ABOUT

They don't decrease for me the lower i go, unlike the demo, as i played that just about full screen at 1280x800, i only had 2x very thin bars top and bottom on that, but same res in the game, and i get the same huge bars as i do at 1280x1024, or any res.

Decided to have another try playing it now, and im actually getting used to the letterbox format, i also turned off AA which seems to have sorted a lot of the pausing/stuttering, so its playing better now as well, and im actually enjoying it now to. :)

That buzzing noise on the PDA is bloody annoying though. :p

the letterbox at 1280x1024 on a 19" is way too small, let alone a 17"

Enjoying the game so far but do agree with the reviews on diffuculty, its very easy (even on hard) & far too much health dotted around when you really dont need it.
Its a tad guilty of the console feel with its aukward movements & floaty feel. The guns fights are less intense & more predictable than i remember but then ive only played for 40 mins so . . .

Graphics are very nice indeed, especially the part were you are in a penthouse apartment with the pool/waterfall, it looks very impressive.

The HUD is rubbish but you get used to it.

Good game and very very polished (hated Stalker games for being buggy incomplete pieces of rubbish that were clearly not ready for release). I just find after playing games like Crysis, Fear 2 is too little too late to have any real impact on PC gamers for the long term.

Bloody hell, I was amazed when I got home a hour ago and saw it ready for download. Usually I have to wait at some stupid time in the afternoon for them to remember to allow people to download the game. ¬¬

I was getting some slow downs during the game autosaving, i've found out if you rename the FEAR2.exe to something else in the game directory it smoothes the autosaves out.

Extremely random.

Just completed the full game plus Reborn DLC, doesn't seem to be a proper thread for the final game so here's my take on it:

+The power armour is absolutely awesome, going rock'n'roll with an assault cannon has never been so much fun
+Turret sections are fine and don't feel too contrived like they do in some games
+Storyline makes a bit more sense and ties in well with the earlier games
+Performance is stonking
+Scary in places, had a few shivers.

-Graphics are pretty average in general although some of the 'weird' scenes are done well. Definitely a disappointment considering the original FEAR was one of the better looking games of the time
-Combat doesn't quite feel as meaty as FEAR, in particular the shotguns feel underpowered.
-Reborn is very short, took me under 2hrs I think
-Yet again friendly NPCs are underutilised, they should try and put them alongside you in combat a lot more
-The game still suffers from the same bland office complexes, although not quite as bad as the original.
