F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin Demo OUT N ABOUT

played the demo, i was getting 40-60 fps at full details, 1920, 2 AA, 16AF so i'm very satisfied with the perfomance. didnt get any black bars as i was playing at 16:9. havent enjoyed a fps so much since the original crysis so i cant wait for the whole game to come out.

one minor annoyance was the slight grain filter (not as bad as mass effect) the game uses. dont know if its possible to disable it but i cant understand why some games use it, it looks horrible imo.
 
Just finished playing the demo and I can safely say it's got the wrong FOV value as I started getting nauseous towards the end. For those not in the know, it's got nothing to do with not running native resolutions or running 4:3 stretched to 16:10/16:9 :)

Cheers for the info. My cpu is slightly worse but my graphics card is slightly better so hopefully I'll get similar performance (or be able to go to 4xAA, which made a huge difference in the original FEAR).
 
I might try and hold off downloading this as I'll definatley get the full game once it's out and I seem have loads of games to play at the moment. I loved the first F.E.A.R but I remember a lot of people saying it was boring etc. I sometimes just like a no-nonsense FPS where you still have a free run of a level but you arn't bogged down with collecting all maner of items to make some magic something or other.
 
Coooool, i'll look forward to this! i enjoyed the first one, not so much the expansions, but i still enjoyed them. Fear combat was quite good too i thought.

Anyone know of a new bioshock game on its way?? - I enjoyed that too.
 
Brilliant demo! , runs between 80fps - 100fps and sometimes more!.

1920x1200 , 16XAF / 4XAA maxed out

My only complaints too easy and this was on hard and the black bars top and bottom , i want full use of my widescreen damn it! :D

Think I'll wait to see how the full game is received. Demo looks very similar to the other FEAR games and I can imagine it probably has the same tired gameplay!
 
Just played it on all max settings with 4xAA and it's looking very nice indeed. Frames didnt go below or above 60 (vsync on). Textures are nice, only gripe might be it feels a little clunky moving around, not as fluid as it is some other FPS games.
 
Maybe its me, but do the graphics look crap in them screenshots?

No offense to the guys who posted them, but they just look low res.

I have a feeling this game will suffer the "dumbed down for consoles" effect.
 
It's lost the fear! Too cartoonish and consoley. Can't see it offering anything new that the original hasn't provided. Absolute tosh IMO of course!
