F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin Demo OUT N ABOUT

Anybody else getting pauses that last for a few seconds and fps dropping down to 0 then back up to 60? Very annoying and renders the game unplayable.

Shall i play this now in broad daylight or save this badboy for later? :D

Played this earlier on the PS3 demo, and have to say the demo itself is ok but nothing special, the bit in the cinema surprised me, but I was playing with full cinema surround sound, and it didn't feel as ...creepy... as the first game did.
Seems they've gone with a combo of young and old Alma this time though, bit of Ring influence there? That said I'd imagine the framerate is a lot more fluid on the PC version, the PS3 felt like it was struggling a bit, must have been locked to 30 fps as I could feel slowdown sometimes.
Could be ok but Im not going to hold my breath.

From what I have seen from screenshots the environments look like the same repetitive levels from the original. I hope I am wrong as I am judging from some of the screenshots I have seen and not from experiencing the demo. The game play in the original was very good while the environments were repetitive and dull which resulted in an average sort of game.

It's lost the fear! Too cartoonish and consoley. Can't see it offering anything new that the original hasn't provided. Absolute tosh IMO of course!

I completely agree, i see absolutely no reason to shell out the cash for this, brings nothing new to the game and does not improve on anything, just another bland shooter. This is like Doom 3, the original FEAR had some appeal mostly because it was very well made in terms of the fear effects, this just doesn't work either in that way or as a game.

Doesn't seem as good as the first one so far, but I havent even completed the demo yet so I'll reserve my judgement for now :)

Runs perfectly at 1920x1200 with 4x AA and every single setting on Maximum.

The game defaulted to max everything for me and 4xFSAA 4xAF but at 960x600 something odd like that resolution so I bumped to 1920x1200 and got a constant 60fps - nice!

Anyway, the GFX is nice, the gameplay is smoother and more streamlined than previous games BUT it felt like a console game through and through because of the ruddy UI and menu system treating you like you're playing it on a console.

Bah.

is this game limited to 30 fps? anybody know? mine stook dead on 30fps through out the demo?

I am getting 70fps @1600x1200 and 90fps @1280x1024
I am using Fraps so it could be wrong.

EDIT= Its still a console port and the wide screen is just Ewwww with 4.3 21" sony

Oh no what have they done to fear:(
Its ok but it just seems your standard fps nothing special. The graphics in places are quite good. Its just the shooting seems a bit light and the game aint scary anymore.
