F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin Demo OUT N ABOUT

I have tried "Widescreen" "0" to make it full screen on a 4.3 monitor
with no luck. I hate the wide screen it uses and thats a deal breaker for me.

Most impressive thing was the sound, especially when hearing the crying sounds, felt like it was happening in my room.

Does the demo end during that mecha/robots thing btw?

Same engine but tweaked ....improved textures, motion blur, better particle effects. Same as HL2 then ep1 to ep2. Looks really good. Love the AI.

Anyone know if the AI is better (not more damage) on hard?

I thought it was 'ok'. Three things annoyed me though

1. Grainy effects that I should be able to switch off
2. The huge borders on screen
3. The combat felt a lot less 'meaty' than the original FEAR

Not a bad demo, grainy effect spoils it...

Also - horrible res, I get width of 1440px but by the time you chop off the black bars and then that silly blue line HUD effect, you get about 600px height... makes it look rubbish and squished up. :(

Combat isnt too bad, but just looked too consolised - the bullets looked more realistic in original FEAR, especially in slo-mo.

Love the power armour - always wanted to drive one of those gun/walker things from Matrix 3 :D

Fear & sequal still have the best A.I in any game ive played. They just move quickly with very little delay based on your movements. Use of surroundings for cover is impressive. Its also unpredictable. Yes it feels a little consoly but what game doesnt now.

You just know this is going to be a very polished game with lots of cool scary moments & action movie moments to boot ....though im not a big fan of the ghosts attacking you.

Just played this myself and enjoyed a lot, ran smooth as silk.

The only problem i had was i could not hear any of the enemy firing so half the time i didn't know i was being shot at.

It's also defaulting to my speakers when windows it set to my usb headphones.

I also notice a lot of ppl are playing qith the brightness to high, those earlier screen shots are way bright, i set it quite dark and it's like 5x creepier

this is a Games For Windows game isnt it? If so it has to support 4:3, 16:10 and 16:9 aspect ratios to meet the requirements so hopefully its just the demo with the dirty big borders.

i played the demo through at 1368x and had no borders on my 22 inch, maxed out everything and it was smooth and looked pretty good.

Whats with the ridiculously high default mouse sence, i have to pretty much 0 it to be useable.

Looks like games are starting to force us to go widescreen? Im still using a 5:4 19" purly cos my system will last longer inbetween upgrades, like my 1 year old 3870 still runs everything fine on my 19"
