Just spotted the engine fire-up video on FB, sounds amazing

One question I have is if anyone knew how the active rear-wing is controlled? I've heard that the drivers will be able to adjust it via a rotary control on the steering wheel. Similarly, I’ve also read that the angle is dependant on throttle position.

I have no idea either. I read on the comments on the engine starting up vid that it is adjusted with regards to throttle amount... But I couldn't guess.
Would make sence if it were something like that though as at the end of the '10 season drivers were saying that there is to much to do on the steering wheel.

Personally I thought Hulkenberg would have got a drive this year. Thought he had done a good job on more than one occasion last term.

As it's been said. He'll probably jump into the Force India when Sutil leaves. I really can't see him staying there unless they deliver a good car for him. They've seem to have gone backwards in development over last season.

It looks like Karun Chandhok will be the 3rd driver at Team Lotus.

"Karun Chandhok spied in Valencia paddock, at a green team, wearing team kit. A third driver announcement in the offing? Let's hope..."

I hope so to :)

Rosberg commented that he (and others) weren't too happy about the movable rear wing.
He mentioned that it was controlled via a button, but was unhappy at the ramifications of the button not working as you enter a corner (and chucking you off due to reduced rear downforce), and also mentioned the unknown 'lag' of pushing the button and waiting for the wing to then move.

I can see this all ending in tears when a wing fails to move which results in a heavy accident :(

I thought that the wing is pre loaded to always spring back to default and would also do so at the first touch of the brake pedal?

Indeed.

However, Hamilton has since commented that in simulations (I know its not the real thing...but still), his technique for using the movable rear wing and KERS is doable and he isn't worried about it.

My understanding is as follows:

Press the button, the wing alters angle, such that the car is loose at the back, but allows greater top speed.

Release the button and the wing moves slowly back to its original position. The act of releasing the button does not instantaneously reset the wing...there is a time lag. It is this time lag which will allow the braver drivers leeway to push things to the limit. If they dare, they will keep that button pressed for as long as possible and hope that by the time they reach the turn-in for the approaching corner, the wing has completely reset, otherwise, they will almost certainly have an "off", due to the severe imbalance of the car.

It is still going to play into the hands of playstation drivers like hamilton, who are more used to pressing multiple buttons while steering and controlling throttles etc.

That is my reckoning, too.
We shall have to wait and see.

This is one of the major reasons why I believe Hamilton will be even more dominant over Button this year (against conventional wisdom which states that now that Button has acclimatised at McLaren, he should be closer to Hamilton).

You think a major factor in how Hamilton performs relative to Button over the course of this season will be his ability in pressing a button?

Even alonso commented a month or so back, that with the current set of rules, regarding KERS and moveable rear wings, driving skill will be less important, than being able to push buttons, and turn dials, while driving around corners.. but.. time will tell..

From what I understand, Petrov is on a very short leash at renault, enough that according to my semi-inside source, if he makes a pigs ear of things early on, then Jérôme d'Ambrosio is likely to jump from Virgin to replace him (apparantly 'Custard' as he is known, has been on the renault radar for a while now).

Drivers need to stop being girls and deal with the situation instead of moaning
