F1 2013 Official Thread

Well first impressions, the handling has been tweaked, not too radically but the handling of the cars seems to have changed slightly really rewarding a good line and turn through a corner. The graphics look more 'matte' than 'gloss' this time but both the cars and tracks are still very detailed and polished looking. There are all the usual modes but now with the addition of a comprehensive scenario mode offering a progression of unlockable themed challenges that all look pretty good fun. The addition of classic cars is in the form of a whole new mode, offering its own GP mode, scenario mode and time trials. All in all it is a very solid package for the GP fan.

I love the handling on the 80's cars, they're so cool to drive. Imagine a full 1980's grand prix legends game...

Listen to the cars singing/echoing down the start of the straight on Jerez. Stunning. Especially the v10's.

Disappointed with the MP, saturday morning and nobody online at all, i.e. not even one game up! Reckon this must have been a sales bust for the codies.
In contrast F1 2012 MP was always pretty busy.

I think so as well, judging by the amount of places that now have it on sale, you can pick up the PC version for £12.99 already!

A new one being being released every year is far to much and is now nothing more then them trying to milk gamers for every penny they can..

No, there's a major bug that standard users and collectors edition users can't race with each other. It's on the Codemasters forums.

From what I know now, I wish I never bought 2010/11 and 12. Only I don't have a DeLorean. :/ Though I'm glad I never bought 2012 for the PC.

VF, I played about 60 races online with classic and non classic edition players, just nobody on this morning.

I checked on the codies forums and there's no mention of a bug with the classic edition, which is the same game BTW. Just nobody online, can't believe this game is dead after a week :-/

Game is a ******* joke. Typical broken crap from codies. I'm sure i'm getting massive driver issues with it. Cant play for more than 1 lap before it crashes. Certainly wont ever buy it again. Complete and utter ****!

...oops thought this was pc...doh

I have the classic edition and can easily see/play with standard edition players.

Could only advise the following like GPU drivers etc, check files or whatever else. Myself haven't had any crashes. I have been frustrated at my settings being copied from SP to MP and vice versa so when I play a MP race with no assits/flashbacks that seems to join my SP game as well meaning I have no flashbacks in my race :( (Which I need because I'm a nub :D).

If a CLASSIC EDITION gamer hosts, he will only be matched with other CLASSIC EDITION players or STANDARD EDITION players with both DLC packs installed when they go live.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

I'm only interested in single player mode.

What is the career mode like?

Also, does this have a manager type mode?

Career mode and other single player modes are good, overall the graphics are improved from 2012, particularly the frame rate, which means less input lag at critical moments, which makes the game much more playable.

Is this just a reskinned 2012, or have Codies actually made an attempt to create a physics engine which resembles reality?

^^ yeah that would be nice

The whole controversial rubber banding and CM magic bubble way of "racing" put me off the entire series probably for good. Shame as a good F1 game is waaay overdue.

Put a lot of time in with this and it is good, more sim oriented, though of course opinions will vary. I love the 90's cars just too much.
