F1 2015

I've had a play this afternoon and I can say there will be a lot of people who will not like it.

I think it will depend if you want a "game" from this or just interested in the racing. By that I mean that there career mode, no tutorials or anything like that. You can basically play Championship mode, Quick Race, Time Trial and Multiplayer. The Championship is the closest thing to a career but it is just a series of races, there's not many options either you can choose a Short Weekend (15 Mins Practice, one shot Qualifying and 50% race distance), Normal (30 Mins Practice, short Qualifying and 50% race distance) and Long (60 mins Practice, Full Qualifying and 100% race). There is nothing you can adjust in those options which is annoying especially as yet I have not found a way to speed up Practice which leads to another point of it being not very accessible... edit; just found the option to ffw time.

There is obviously wheel support but it needs tweaking to get to an acceptable level.

Graphically it's OK and seems to run fine, there seems to be some issues with the penalty system with a few strange calls.

I'll get a fair bit of use out of it online and I like single races etc but I think anyone who is looking for a progression system and not single races will be disappointed. Looking at the trophies a lot are based around the Quick race which gives an indication of what the game is about.

CM have said they are not going to add a career mode to this but may look to introduce again in F1 2016....

Hmm, sounds lacking.

So it's realistic then :)

Not quite, he didn't DNF. :D

Whats the damage like guys? Saw a lot of bumping on the previews with no damage the the noses etc.

I hadn't really noticed but when I was racing online with a mate last night he crashed and lost the front wing. We were playing with no assists and full damage and he said it made the car un-drivable. When I finished the race I was watching from his point of view and he went full speed into a barrier, there was no damage to the nose...

Damage is pretty realistic you can lose your wing ends /the whole wing / get punctures /wheels come flying off:D

Always loved codemasters replay system you can slow it right down.

My car was damaged and then JB crashed into me

I'm on the fence with this one. ... Local tesco will have it for ps4 no doubt , but I'm not totally convinced.

Not so bothered about lacking co op or career as season mode will be fine. But its the performance I'm more concerned about. Project cars screen tearing dampened that game. And from the videos I've seen , f1 2015 suffers the same fate... Was hoping df had done their frame rate tests by now...

Looks dreadful. Check out the in pit gfx, the tearing across the screen when handed the tablet to view on track action.

Then look at top half of screen gfx cuts and tears the tree line , decided. Not a purchase for me, and I'm such a huge racing and f1 fan.

About time the f1 licence was given to another developer. Codemasters just don't know what to do with it to do it justice, and they can't optimise console games for toffee.. Their ps3 f1 games suffered dreadful screen tearing..

Best avoided from the looks folks.

Edit - well no sooner did I say all this then mate just text saying he's playing this right now. Huge f1 fan my mate , so I'll pop round and check his copy out. No substitute for actually having a go, I could share play but hes only a few miles away, I'll pop in and check it out...

To be honest from your posts, you seem so concerned about screen tearing that almost nothing else matters. Not everyone is so bothered about it.

From what I've personally seen and heard, F12015 is a solid racer on-track, just lacking in features. Looking forward to playing it tonight.

It's 50/50 I guess. I'm not the only one to notice and complain about visual defects like this.... And it does seem to the same developers from previous gen that don't seem able to lock the frame rate. Some are very sensitive to it.

One way around the issue is to game on PC? Pros and cons, I've been told in the past about pros and cons to PC and console gaming. Plus I'm terrible at times and do often get told to just shut up : -)

But your right it's being reported to be a solid racer. Just lacking features, but I'm not so bothered about co op mode or full blown career ... Whereas I guess some are ?

There is screen tearing, and it is slightly annoying... but I think it's something you can ignore and then it won't bother you. I noticed it around the stadium section of the Mexican track last night... but then again the rest of the game feels so smooth with the 60fps it basically makes up for it.

The actual driving and handling of the cars seems great.

Just tuned in on twitch to check it out. The track cutting is horrendous.

I've heard enough people moan about this now to think they'll patch in a revised penalty system for corners.

They did for project cars, which is a different developer but it is a serious issues, and codemasters patched in measures to try and prevent corner cutting in previous f1 titles as well..

So you could be correct on that one...

Just had a quick blast on this on time trial as have things to do, I'm gutted the scenario modes have gone. I played these all the time when I had a spare 20mins.

But quick look on the net doesn't seem like many others care they have gone, seems I'm in the minority.

Just without these extras these f1 games seem very lacking in content.

Seems your standard CM game. It'll be a good game in about 4 games time when they have everything.

Seems a rubbish F1 experience.
