F1 2015

The AI is also pretty poor in this one. Just been rammed off the track for following the racing line....I got awarded a penalty for this.. .??

Had a somewhat identical thing happen to me in one of the quali sessions.

Pulled over and slowed down as Vettel was behind me and I wanted a completely free bit of track, up to as little as 20 feet away he was on a completely different line looking like he would sail by, then suddenly swerved into the back of mine and destroyed both cars!

After playing some more of this I definitely have a few gripes, most of which are daft little things which devs have either for some reason changed since previous games or just completely overlooked.

The lack of season customisation is my biggest one. I like full practice and qualifying lengths, but a race distance of 50%. Unless I'm missing something, I cant do this as everything is a short/medium/long preset, and also you cant change it during a season either like previously?

The car handling and actual experience of driving still feels great to me though.

What I don't get, and this is what irks me is that they must read this feedback from eurogamer, customers etc, and very rarely do they act upon it.

Its a disgrace in some ways. Here, this is our game, play it how we say and if you don't like it, then thanks for the £40 now erm go away..

But all it needs is one or even two simple changes, triple buffering v sync option or 30fps lock - how hard is this?

Devs, like I say, I heard they are arrogant and do not like criticism. Seems they prefer disgruntled customers more then saving face.

although you can't paint them all with the same brush, some do after a while concede and apply simple common sense fixes.

I did say a few pages back codemasters had the sense to lock the replays to v sync 30fps and offer the pit chat via DS4, TV or headset, which is improvements begged for over on the project cars forums - nothing ever done to fix it...

Everything you say is the compete oposite to the Codemasters that are making Dirt Rally.

To me it sounds more like this new engine isn't fully ironed out yet, and as F1 games are on a very tight release deadline this just isn't quite fully polished yet.

This is the problem with having year releases I suppose. There's only so much they can get in there before it has to be thrown out the door and onto shelves.

Well I did say csnt paint them all with the same brush.. I was reading the official f1 2015 forums. No response from any devs on any questions or issues..

Which going on project cars forums where a few devs and even the studio owner did answer (although in the case of Ian bell maybe not all that favorable to some) so its hard to know if codemasters will attempt to fix some of the faults or move onto f1 2016.

I noticed someone on my friends list posted videos of cars missing tires. And I've noticed horrendous performance issues and missing people in the pits. Even in replays missing pit crew and crippling performance is common..

But, the core game is well solid. Ffb and the feel of the car to track is excellent...

Its the same company. Codemasters make Dirt Rally and F1 2015.

Given the lengths they are going to in Dirt Rally to work to the fans wishes I seriously doubt the problems with F1 2015 are because they are lazy and arrogant.

Like Vinno said, I expect this is more about them having to get the game finished ASAP, and they have just got a bunch of default settings, taped them all down, packaged it up and shipped it out the door.

The unfortunate thing is they won't patch F1 2015 to fix it, they will just do the fixes in 2016 instead.

People moaned that 2010 to 2014 was all on the same engine, but at least that meant they didn't have to worry about glitches like this every year.

I don't think it would be unreasonable to expect them to continue patching 2015 throughout the year to resolve these issues. There's really no reason not to since anything they do with this will benefit 2016. They certainly can't use their old favourite excuse of MS/Sony charge to release patches.

Some of the issues are fairly fundamental and prevalent that it does make you wonder if they were even playing this during development. For instance, if you do a race weekend with short practice, one shot-qualifying and 25% race it will let you choose whatever compound of tyre you want at the start of the race - so if you change from what you qualified on the pit strategy remains as it originally was so when you come in to pit you'll change onto the wrong tyre meaning you'll be disqualified for not using both compounds at the end of the race.

The multiplayer is more frustrating, playing in a private lobby with AI the game frequently desyncs and essentially becomes single player before at the end putting everyones times together to work out the final positions.

I really hope they don't just abandon this because the actual racing is probably the most fun the series has ever been.

the Xbox one version had a 900mb update on the day of release
didn't play it before so no idea what it fixed

Probably same one as the PS4, mainly the addition of Manor plus some tweaks to the car designs to bring them more up to date along with "general" bug fixes.

The most retarded bug is when 2 AI team mates pit on the same lap so one has to sit and wait. It happens nearly every race.

Online is so messy. You start a hop as they are called iin this game. But no one sticks it out. And quits, so you've got say two or three races out of a season done, and say you need like 12 more points to be 1st if all player's start to quit before the last race. Well it leaves just you and you can't proceed any further.... How annoying..

It's a love hate game, I love some aspects but so many issues ... As mentioned, the pits are also bugged cars stack, useless... this bug was in f1 2010.

Two racing games this gen released not finished. Project cars and f1 2015. No. Three. Drive club. Although that did eventually get finished but its not proper track racing like f1 2015 or project cars. I'm so frustrated with this its untrue but its what it is I guess..

I'm enjoying it, had a great wet/dry full race in Malaysia last night. Personally not seen that many bugs, but the most common one I come across is when you ask for a tyre wear update and get conflicting radio messages.

They literally say they are fine with no issues then immediately afterwards are completely shot!

Quick query - is anyone having problems with trophies registering? There is one called 'Grand Slam' - pole, win, fastest lap and lead all laps. I've done this twice. First time I saved the race mid-way and came back to it the following night - I assumed that the trophy didn't register because of the break between playing. However, I achieved all of the criteria again tonight but still no trophy  I now wonder if it was because I swapped places with Hamilton during the opening lap. I did cross the line in the lead on all of the laps and didn't lose the lead in the pits at all, so in real life this would count as leading every lap... Any others noticed similar?

Generally speaking I'm loving this game :D but not blind to some of the 'issues'!

Personally, I'm not fussed about oodles of different modes and challenges as I have limited time/energy to dedicate to gaming. So coming home from work and doing a championship weekend every other night or so after the wife has gone to bed or is busy making a cake suits be just fine

Great handling/feel using a pad and I've found that the 4 championship race weekends that I've done so far pretty immersive.

I'm also going to move the PS4 upstairs to use with my wheel and pedals and have a crack at the pro championship at some point.

I'm about 9 trophies away from platinum , not had any issues with them popping. Have had seriously poor frame rates at times, mostly in the pits, and some dreadful screen tear..

Also had engineer telling me I'm good on fuel only to run out two laps from the end. Annoying.

Overall if they fixed the frame drops etc it's a pretty solid racer. But graphics are poor in places. Stunning in other areas.. Replay mode as I keep saying is wicked. Project cars, that's how a replay mode is done. Just needs screen shot function.

It would be so much better if they just locked the game to 30fps. Hopefully that would remove the screen tear and slow down.....

Are the replays 30FPS? Because if so they are bloody awful compared to 60. I've still really not experienced much in the way of slowdown, or in particular, tearing.

A bit here and there yes, but nothing what I would call major and no worse than any other racing game I've played recently.

I think you may need to stay in the lead the entire time... first time I thought I'd done it but it didn't register. I was briefly overtaken on the first lap. Second time I was in the lead the entire time and it popped up during the championship standings screen.
