F1 2016

I bumped up the difficulty to Legend without realising it, which is why I was off the pace in practise!:D

Continued on Legend though for quali and race - qualified 9th and finished 3rd after some rain! It's a track that's grown on me.

that's a cracking time you done on it, beat me by over a second :)

I wish I had too - practice is tough, but quali is easier and the race is much easier still.

Just quit after the practices to the main menu, then load your career and change the difficulty up, that's what I'm going to do :)

Thanks, although I only did a few laps before getting annoyed as I kept missing my braking points and struggled around the long bends :(

I don't get it...

How the hell is able to drive like that with no assists?

haha one thing i noticed is i used rave as a ghost how the hell are you getting a boost near the start ?

i tried all the cfgs yet at the start and im flat out you just get like a extra turbo :p looks odd man.

someone else use his ghost and see what i mean.i compared even the top times and none do this .weird.

Shame hes **** tho!

That better? :D

Much better :D The trouble with using auto gears is it's difficult to improve and get a competitive time against people who can use manual gears properly. Maybe one day I'll get a new wheel and be able to use manual :p

Baku is such an awful track, couldn't stand it. Had to crash myself out to skip it

I hated it at first but then got used to it a bit, apart from that tight chicane, especially in the damn rain

Oh god, i hate that corner, sooo much understeer! Must be a nightmare in the wet.The thing I hate about it is the lifeless first section with 90 degree bends and long straights.

Doesn't help that it has to contrast after Canada, which is one of my favourites. Good race too, started in the wet in 4th and dried up with 10 laps to go, put on dry tyres, fuel mix to rich and set quali after quali lap. Still couldn't quite get on the back of Hamilton, came 1.6 seconds behind 1st.

Purchased this on the PS4 today cause I fancied playing in on the sofa, what an awful experience, the frame rate is terrible, theres 2/3 breakdowns and stuttering on every lap in the same places and even the out of game footage when team staff talk to you stutters like hell, there must be drops to -25fps in and out game. It's going back tomorrow.

I've not played my console since the latest unchartered release, are these frames really what they put up with, and the ps4 is the more powerful current gen console.

could you not HDMI from your pc to the tv??

I do it and looks and plays great (not f1 as not bought yet)

Ah yes the first few corners are pretty boring :/ Canada is a great track :)

Are any of you guys who LOVE the game using just a pad???

I really like the look of the game but worry it wont be that good as I dont own or intend on getting a wheel (space and money atm)

I mentioned the same thing to CR earlier. It seems to be a bug of somekind. Ive seen it too.

I'm not even sure if setups really do make a difference....
Are there gear ratios in this game?

Also is there any graph data to show car performance/acceleration/throttle/braking etc?

I remember F1 games back in the day use to have such detail :)

I played my previous F1 games on a pad and had plenty of fun on the career - you just have to keep in mind you probably won't be very competitive time wise against people using wheels if you're interested in doing time trial.

I just bought it - how do i join the gang for the lap times?

It's a friends based leaderboard so you just need to add everyone - what's your steam?

Going to try and better some of my hot lap times - been busy with the career mode, but that has helped as doing the career practice modes does in fact help you learn the tracks better..

Finally turned off all brake assist. So all I have left on now is ABS, dunno why but even though you might not be as quick with assists turn off you do feel more sense of achievement...

Loving this game..

To be honest, I'd heard the console versions were suffering some dreadful tearing and slowdown /frame drop outs.

F1 2015 was no better , I played 2015 on PS4 last year as I didn't have a good enough spec PC - I do think its been the recent number of poor performing console games that might have tipped me towards a better spec PC.

Its not just F1 2016 lately thats been suffering, quite a few AAA games on consoles have shown how seriously under-powered recent consoles are for the graphical looks expected from games nowadays - most think 1080p 60fps is now the standard, but sadly unless devs drop a substantial amount of graphical fluidity which IMO would just mean the game is an upped resolution version of a previous gen game at 60fps - then yes console games will always lag behind PC. But the cost of higher graphical fluidity is the screen tearing or fps drops when aiming for 60fps or worse a 30fps cap, which is IMO very off putting.
