F1 2016

Thanks guys, I have been running with ghosts off so will try chasing the ghost rivals. I have also started running with ABS off which forces you to brake better. Have beaten my pb today, but only by a whisker.

I did load the world record Aus ghost and somehow he manages to cut straight across the first corner, are Codemasters not known to keep an eye on the leaderboards and remove the obvious cheaters?
Also, is anyone else having the game drop to desktop, not crash just drop. Annoying. It pauses the game but you can't recover from a pause mid flight realy. Will happen 3-4 times a session, can't see anything taking focus from the game, it just drops out of fullscreen to the taskbar.

Hmm I have ghosts turned off and use manual gears, I should really turn off brake assists, as its set to low, but I do sometimes forget my braking point, so that is sorta acting like a adaptive racing line for me, as I don't use racing line either.

I also didn't know you could use others car setups.

Amazingly good game, very addictive.
 
So tempted by that wheel although I would want the G920 as I have a PC and Xbox One. I did have one around xmas time and I thought it was a decent wheel but ended up selling for what I paid due to lack of games but I should have F1 2016 tonight so I'm considering it again. I don't think I needed the gears really, I could make do with paddles. Anyone on the fence I wouldn't hesitate at that price. Feel free to add me guys on Steam username Spikecast :)

I prefer the paddles myself but some sim racers do like to use H Shifter - its personal choice.

I got the G29 as I have both PS4 and PC, and an X1 to be fair, but it most likely won't ever see any use on console as one reason i can't be bothered to un-clamp from my desk or move the PS4 to the desk to use it, and another reason is I've found pretty much all racing games bare Drive Club to have abysmal performance and horrendous screen tearing (DC runs at 30fps as well) so PC has quickly now become my home for racing games it seems. So the G29 is firmly attached and setup for PC gaming, and its great fun.. Excellent wheel IMO

not using paddles in f1 car is a crime :p

Very true! PC usually wins hands down.

I also turned ghosts off. I find them very distracting, especially when they are just in front of you.

:eek: Brake assists. I was expecting you to come back and own us all :p

I find 8 gears hard work with manual, so auto gears for me. I find turning off abs a good speed boost through the corners now that they have improved the car physics.

mate, I'm slowing down in racing games. I'm intending to turn off brake assist shortly once I've got back into it, oddly for Project Cars, Dirt Rally or ACR I use no assists, yet with F1 2016 really struggling to get the lap times, as I say I blame getting older lol
 
CR - how come on the main straight after turn 10 your car just goes into turbo mode, I even exit the corner faster than you but suddenly you launch forward....

Some kind of mixture thing?

We should get some races together. I remember you being strong over long runs when they brought in decent tyre wear.
