F1 2016

Ahem look above please at my post :D

Yeah, I just switched ghosts back on. That is a weird one, happened on one of my wet runs too, china I think. Doesn't actually go like that on the actual run.

Spa next, although I need to do some career races.

Edit: I think it happens when you use the setup of some of the very top times. I think those are bugged in some way?

Bizzare! Er ok thanks for letting me know bud!

By the way, is there anyway to make the game use the split times of the ghosts?
For some reason its using a different split time (I think the best lap set previously).

No idea, for me it uses my personal best even if it was an invalidated lap. I find them useful to improve versus a rival, but eventually they just get in the way of your braking points. Different splits would be useful.

I bumped up the difficulty to Legend without realising it, which is why I was off the pace in practise!:D

Continued on Legend though for quali and race - qualified 9th and finished 3rd after some rain! It's a track that's grown on me.

I wish I had too - practice is tough, but quali is easier and the race is much easier still.

i can match him all way round except for the start which for some reason he just zooms off at like twice the speed.

even when i use his set up my car dont do that which i cant work out why.:p

Use some of the top ghosts. You will quickly realise that there are corners that can be cut and parts of the track that can be glitched. I mirrored one of them, then felt guilty and backed off. I have gone back to my career and will wait to see if they fix these issues.

This really is fantastic - they have done great job in getting you to actually practice now!

It is actually fun to do now. I find myself running out of time :)

The tyre allocation keeps it interesting too.

Nah its not just you.. I'm enjoying the game, but wow what has happened to my competitiveness.

I am just not carrying my speed through corners, and I am a lot slower in this then I was in F1 2010 - 2012.

the AI are hard , some say they are easy, but I just raced Monaco and wow, I didn't finish. I crashed out, due to AI chasing me hard after the first round of pit stops..

The AI has been much improved which is what everyone requested. Much more competitive in practice and quali times and also at racing. As others have said, in some cases there is a bit too much of a leap between some of the difficulties.

What I am finding is that perfecting the corners is more important than ever - more specifically, not going in too quickly (generally way slower than you expect), hitting the apex correctly and getting your exit spot on...and usually staying off the kerbs as they kill your traction. I have never had to think about cornering as much in any of the previous iterations.

This may be my problem with missing the Legend practice pace by ~0.6-1s. Maybe if I really try to improve getting all my corners spot on then it could be a lot more fun.

Edit: After taking notice, there's not much wrong with my cornering, I just think you need to be able to use manual gears to play well on Legend: I'm just losing loads of time on the straights because of auto gears.

You can somewhat override the auto gears through the corners.

Monaco in this game is a right pain, completely agree. Hard work to get any kind of good time. Codemasters have done a great job of that track, haven't had that feeling before.

Its not slowing you down much though is it :p

there was deals on G29 and the G920 is it? Around £130 some were getting them for.

It slows me down a lot :( - it really messes with my lines. I don't remember it being like this, but then I did buy it for F1 2010 :D

Might look at those deals again. There is a high street retailer with it for £143. Might pop out tomorrow.

G29 or G920, that is the question.
