They showed of the new sponsor, which was a big deal given how much is paid, and then wheeled out a show car, which Christian said wouldn’t reasonable the car that hits the track. All the launches are going to be the same, the teams won’t show their hands until fp1 of the first race, they’ll have so many upgrade packages already queued up for the season.

They need to do correlation work before FP1, 90% complete cars will be running in the Bahrain test I would think...

Exactly. There will be a solid base of a car and then they will interchange parts to see if the simulations were lying or not. Lol!

I do wish they'd go more wild with the liveries though.

I see Honda have been relegated to the small HRC logo on the back of the engine cover.

Aston Martin AMR22

Looks more like a real car, with the Merc plenum hump and some serious cooling fins on the side pods...

Even some DRS details.

We've not seen those vents on the side pods before have we?

Seb needs a hair cut :D
Pretty sure the silver demo car had them.

Anyone else noticed how high the front wing is. I wonder if they're looking to use more of the front airflow further back for the floor / ground effect. Or perhaps they're planning on using a massive amount of rake once it hits the track.

Ok, looking at that, I'm going to thrown an idea out there. The side pods are squared off like that, because they're designed to flex at high speed to reduce the size of the opening / reduce drag. They're black so it doesn't show up on cameras easily during the race.

I would have thought that will be to help maximise the ground effect from the floor working the air being more important/balanced than pure front wing downforce.
